School Council Meeting
The next meeting of the School Council will be held
on Wednesday 24th March at 6:00pm in the
Staffroom.
Sunraysia Division Tennis On Tuesday, Chase Russell, Paddy Connelly, Mason Pinnington and Eadie
Neagle competed in the Sunraysia district tennis competition at the Mildura
Lawn Courts.
The format for the day was a round robin draw. The boys had four pools and
the girls had only one pool.
Chase and Paddy were competitive in their pool games with Paddy
finishing 3rd in his pool and Chase finishing 5th in his pool. As there was only
one pool for the girls Eadie finished 3rd for the girls only just missing out on
going through to Swan Hill. Mason finished the top of his pool winning
all 3 of his round robin games. He then qualified for the semifinals but
unluckily came up against the strongest player in the competition and
eventual winner. Mason finished 3rd for the boys overall. Well done to
all the boys and girl who played to their very best and showed good
sportsmanship throughout the day.

Camps Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF) 2021
The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and
sporting activities.
If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink
Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible.
Payment amounts this year are $125 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the
school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your
child.
If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form
this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.
If you would like to apply for the first time, please come in to the school office and ask for an application
form.
You can also download the form, and find out more about the program and eligibility, on the
Department of Education and Training’s Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund web page.
Check with the school office if you are unsure, and please return completed forms to the school office by
the end of Term 1, Thursday 1st April.
Parent Payment 2021
School Council determines the school fees each year and
approves the Parent Payment Policy as outlined by the
Department of Education. At our recent School Council
meeting it was determined that the parent payment cost for
2021 will be $150.
This cost covers all essential student learning items (for
example: pens, pencils, iPad apps).
Any extra non curriculum based programs (eg interschool
sport) will incur a cost at the time of the event.
Payment plans are available by direct depositing money into
the following account with your child’s name as the
reference;
BSB: 063 520
Acc: 10104523

cost of the jumper is $55.00. Orders
submitted prior to Monday March 1st will
be ready for collection during the Easter

House Sports Shirts
If you would like to order a House Shirt for
this year, now is the time to do it!
Please note these can not be bought off

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Program at ISPS
At Irymple South we have implemented a 1:1 learning
program where each students will have access to a
digital device to complete learning tasks. The preferred
model at Irymple South is based on Bring Your Own
Device (BYOD) where students bring their own iPads
which are either purchased or leased directly by
families.
The following forms which can be found in the ‘Events’ tab on
XUNO need to be read and approved by Friday 26th
February.
1. BYOD Standards for Personal iPad Care – this needs to be
approved if your child is bringing their own iPad. As in
previous years, students without their own device will
have access to school owned
devices, however they will
remain at school.
2. Acceptable User Agreement – this
needs to be approved by all
parents as it is a commitment
to using all technology at
school in a safe and
responsible way.

Science
We had two visitors this week in Science, both are from the Mildura Rural City Council. Emily
works in the Waste Education field and Nardia works in the Environmental Sustainability field. All
students this week had to conduct their very own waste audit with rubbish from their own
classroom to see how they have been going with putting their waste into the correct bins. It was
fantastic to see students taking ownership over what they have been learning in Science, which
is also helping our environment. Who knew that sorting and talking about rubbish can be so
much fun!
