1 Account Registration
How to register to be a partner
1. Enter the http://partner.sunmi.com. Click “Register” to next step.
It is recommended to use Google Chrome browser to experience sunmi cloud function.
2. Enter the name, password and email. Once you have completed entering the information click
the “Register” button to next step.

3. The “Check email immediately” dialog is displayed. Click this button to check the activation
mail from the mailbox which you submit in the previous step. (If you are using a free web mail and
you did not receive an email you may need to check your spam or trash folder to locate the email.)
4. Log in partner platform after the activation, and you need to fill in the full account
information including the Business Licence and submit it to SUNMI for account verification.

5. SUNMI will assign the appropriate role for partner when the account verification process is
completed (about one working day), and you will receive the following email notification.

2 Partner Roles
Sunmi will assign role to each partner while they register, you can contact us to get more
information. We have 3 different types of partner right now:
Channel partner (Primary account)
You can invite your customer to become new partner and each Sunmi's device will binding a
partner account when it be sold out.
You can develop and adaptive your app to Sunmi's devices, maintains an apps store yourself,
choice apps what he wanted appear on Apps store, and upload apps, those apps their uploaded
no need to be verified by Sunmi.
Also, you can implement some customization features of your devices through sunmi partner
platform.
Subordinate (sub account)
Subordinate is an account set up under a primary account by Channel partner. There are two
types of sub account: Control subordinate and Cooperation subordinate. For details please refer
to 10. Subordinate Management.
App Developer
You can develop and adaptive your app to Sunmi's devices, upload app to Sunmi's apps library,
any user can download and install this app.
In principle, each Sunmi's device will binding a partner account when it be sold out, Sunmi will
manipulate those devices by partner.

3 Machine Debugging
3.1 Debugger Access Control
(This function only affects to non-financial devices. If you want to debug Sunmi P Series device,
please contact our sales for getting debug permission.)
You can connect the device directly to the PC for debugging. In addition, we also provide the device
debugging permissions control function.
Steps:Tap 'Common Settings' - 'Debugger Access Control'.
If you turn on the 'Debugger Access Control' as the following arrow showing in Sunmi partner
platform, developers must get the access permission when debugging the device. If you can't debug
the device, please confirm that you have obtained permission to debug device.
Notice: “Debugger Access Control” feature only affects the devices that have been bonded to your
company.
3.2 How to debug the device
If the 'Debugger Access Control' has been turned on, the developer should get permission to debug
through the mail authentication code. Here are the steps to debug the device:
Step1:Adding developer to debugger.
You can only debug the devices you own and the devices that have been bonded to your company.
First, you need to add developer to debugger on Sunmi partner platform by tap 'Debugger' - 'Add'.

Step2. Connect the device to the PC through the USB connection.
It is recommended to debug in the Windows system environment. If the device has been
successfully identified by the PC, it will show 'Debugging’ pop-window prompt:
If your device didn't identify by the PC, please check the follow reason:
Connection failed, please plug out and insert the USB cable to reconnect device.
Cable fault, please change other USB cable.
The device driver is missing in the system, reinstall driver.
Step3. Get the veification code.
The 'Debugging' dialog is displayed, please click 'Debugging' button to enter the debugging
verification step, and the USB debugging mode will be automatic turned on. However, you can also
click 'I know' to cancel and the USB debugging mode will be turned off.
Step4. Verify permissions.
Enter your debugger account and click 'Get Code', Sunmi will sending a verification code to your
email, input the verification and press 'Authorize'.
Step5. Let’s debug.
Check the Logcat after you getting the debug permission. The debug permission is valid for 7 days.

4 Application Deployment
4.1 Application instaionlation method
There is an App store in SUNMI OS, all Sunmi devices can be download and install the application
from Sunmi App store. In addition, there is a 'Allow third party applications to install' option in
“Common Settings” page of Sunmi partner platform (as the following arrow showing). If this option
is turned on, all your devices are only to install apps from App store. Otherwis, you are allowed to
install applications in other ways. (For example, download and install from webpage, recevice and
install from Bluetooth)
(This function only affects to non-financial devices. Please note that Sunmi P Series device only
allows to be installed apps from App store.)
4.2 Application deployment
When the application development and test is completed, you can upload your app to Sunmi apps
store, allowing users to download and install the App directly from Sunmi App store. You can even
make the devices automatically install the specified application.
Here are the steps for uploading apps.
1) Tap ‘My App’, click or drag and drop the Apk which you want upload to the box below.

2) Waiting for a while, after upload successfully, the system will automatic parsing the apk and fill
in the content that the green green arrow showing, and please fill in the rest content completely.
Notice:*The length of the ‘APP introduction’ and ’Remark’ must be 10-1000 letters.
*Upload at least three real screenshots
3) When all fields are completed, the 'Next' button will turn blue and clickable, click it and set the
price of the App.

Sunmi AppStore pricing model can help you through Sunmi thousands of dealers to promote
terminal merchants.
Retail price refers to the payment price of the terminal merchant. Agency price refers to the last
month you and business meters final settlement price(The price is 1% off the bank charges)

4) Click 'Preview' button to preview APP details and finish the process of upload app.
5) After the app has been submitted successfully, generally requires 1 working days for verification.
Tips:
Sunmi provide apps store to each partner, we assign different permissions to each partner's
apps store. During the audit period, all your devices can be downloaded and installed this App
which you upload directly in the App Store. But it will appear in other’s App store when the
audit is approved, and when the “Shelf area” option is chosen as “No limit”.
By default, the App developed for P series devices must go through security testing, and it
would appear in Sunmi App store after verification.

4.2.1 Gray Release (Deploy application to specified device)
When you submit the app to app store, you can also deploy apps to specified device by setting the
“Shelf area” and “Deploy” options.
Each device has a unique Serial number and it will be getting a location when it works, you could
deploy your app to the specified device by Region, Channel, or SN, this app will be shown in the
apps store of target devices.
Here are some examples of how to deploy application to specified device:
1. If you want to deploy the app to all sunmi devices, you can set ‘Shelf area’ to “No limit” and set
‘Deploy’ to “Deploy All”.
2. If you want to deploy the app to all your devices, you can set ‘Shelf area’ to “For this channel
only” and set ‘Deploy’ to “Deploy All”.
3. If you want to deploy the app to all your devices in Shanghai, you can set ‘Shelf area’ to “For this
channel only” and set ‘Deploy’ to “Gray Release”, click on ‘Add by Region’ to select “China
Shanghai city”, then click ‘OK’.
4. If you want to deploy the app to the devices of other channel in Shanghai, you can set ‘Shelf
area’ to “No limit” and set ‘Deploy’ to “Gray Release”, click on ‘Add by Region’ to select “China
Shanghai city”, and click on ‘Add by Channel’ to select “Channel Name”, then click ‘OK’.
5. If you want to deploy the app to the specified device and you have the serial number, you can
set ‘Shelf area’ to “No limit” and set ‘Deploy’ to “Gray Release”, and enter the SN to the box , then
click ‘OK’.

4.2.2 Application deployment FAQ
FAQ:
Q1:How to claim when I get ‘PackageName repeat!‘ message?
If it prompt ‘PackageName repeat!’, it means this apk has been released in the apps store, if this app
belongs to your company, please contact to Sunmi and claim it.
Email Subjest:App Store Content Dispute
Content:Application-App Name(package name),Rights Owner, Phone, company name, attach
the Business license and Software copyright certificate.
We will email both parties so that you can work directly with each other to resolve the dispute.
Q2: If prompt ‘Parsing failure’ error while uploading APK, how to fix?
There are several issues you should take into consideration:
Please check if ARM libraries are included in the libs file, it may casue installation failures.
If it prompt signature exception while uploading APK, please check if the signature is included
in the APK and the signature of the apk is the same as it was before.
If it prompt Unable to upgrade, please confirm if the uploaded version is higher than the
current version.
4.3 Application Update deployment
After the verification succeed, there will be a 'Update' button at the app list in My App options,
developer can deploy updated version of the application. The following is the process of APP update.
1) Tap ‘My App’, click the ‘Update’ button enter the APP updating page.

2) Click 'Upgrade', selecting the apk which you want upload. Upgrade and discontinue the last apk
version with newest version to all devices.
3) Waiting for a while, after APK upload successfully, fill the rest content and click ‘Update’.
Notice:*The length of the ‘Upgrade introduction’ and ’Memo’ must be 10-1000 letters.

4.3.1 Gray Upgrade (Deploy application to specified device)
You can also deploy apps to specified device when you deploy updated version of the application.
Each device has a unique Serial number and it will be getting a location when it works, you could
deploy your updated version of the app to the specified device by Region, Channel, or SN, this
updated version will be shown in the apps store of target devices.
After a small-scale testing, then deploy the updated version of the app to all your devices.
The following is the process of gray upgrade.
1) Tap ‘My App’, click the ‘Update’ button enter the APP updating page.

2) Click the ‘Add Gray released’ button enter to grayscale deploy, and submit the updated version of
the application.
3) You could deploy the updated version of app to the specified device by Region, Channel, or SN,
this updated version will be shown in the apps store of target devices and the earlier version would
be deployed to other devices still. Refer to ‘Here are some examples of how to deploy application to
specified device’

4) Fill the rest content and click ‘OK’.
5) After the app has been updated successfully, generally requires 1 working days for verification.
Tips:

6) If there is a user reporting bugs in the gray upgrade version, you can click ‘Pause’ to stop the
deployment and click ‘Upgrade’ to upload the new package instead,even during the pending
verification period.

7)After a small-scale testing, you can click ‘Adjust gray range’ to increase the range of deployment
over the original range of greyscale, it is suitable for small range trial without any problems.
Also, you can deploy the app to all your devices by clicking ‘Change to official version’. The gray
upgrade version would be swithed into a formal version, and the last formal version would be
discontinued.
Tips:As pictured above, only one grayscale version and one official version are allowed.

5 Manage your App Store
Sunmi provide app store to each partner, you can build your owen App store, choice apps what you
wanted appear on App store, set the app as automatic installation app, and you can also specify that
the app starts automatically on all your devices.
5.1 Build your owen App Store
You can build your owen App store, choice apps what you wanted appear on App store, even could
set your app store not showing other's apps.
As shown below, on the left side is your owen App store, and the Sunmi’s App library is on the right
side. There are 2000+ commercial App in Sunmi App library, your can add apps what you wanted to
your App store, or you can click “Add all” to make all Apps on shelves.
Also, you can just click the “Recycle Bin Icon” to remove the App you don’t need.

5.2 Auto install App
If you want the app you uploaded automatically installed on the device of all your devices, you can
set it as automatic installation app by enabling “Auto install”, all your devices will automatically
download and install this app when receive the push message.
5.3 App Auto Startup
You can let the devices automatically run an application on boot, one model can only set an auto
start application. It will work when the next boot of the device.

5.4 App Protection
You can choose one application what you want to avoid be killed by system cleaner when the
system is out of memory. Please noted that manually press "□" button on device to clean up running
application will kill this APP.
How to cancel App Protection? Just click the “Recycle Bin Icon” to cancel protection.

6 Machine customization
You can implement some customization features of your devices through sunmi partner platform, it
helps businesses enrich the customers experience by customizing boot animation, launcher, app
store banner and iBeacon.
6.1 Boot Animation customization
You can use the ‘Picture Making Rule’ or ‘Zip Making Rule’ to set up the boot animation, and apply
for your devices.
Notice:Sunmi P1 does not support this feature for the time being.

How does it work?
First, reboot your device. This will not display the Boot animation you uploaded, but it will trigger
the request, download and configuration of the animation.
A moment later, reboots the device again. This time, you can see the boot animation you uploaded.
There will be a sunmi logo first, and the custom boot animation will appear on the next page.

6.2 Launcher customization
You can customize the desktop of the machine through the "My Launcher" function of the partner
platform, so that the machine directly presents the applications that you want show on the
homepage and hides other applications that you don’t need.
You need to develop an Launcher Application for this, and upload it to replace the default Sunmi
launcher for your devices.
Steps: Tap ‘My Launcher’, click ‘Desktop DIY’, select Model and upload your launcher.
How does it work?
First, reboot your device. This will not display the launcher you uploaded, but it will trigger the
request, download and install the launcher.
A moment later, when the launcher installation is complete. It will not directly set as default home
screen, until you hit your home button, it'll bring up a list of the installed launchers, select the
custom launcher to set default home screen.

6.3 Wallpaper customization
You can upload custom image to set as default wallpaper for your devices.
Steps: Tap ‘My Launcher’, click ‘Wallpaper DIY’, select Model and upload the image.
Requirements:
Vertical screen Wallpaper: Best visuals:720*1280; File size:<350KB; File type:PNG only;
Horizontal screen Wallpaper: Best visuals:1920*10280; File size:< 500KB; File type:PNG only;

How does it work?
The device will check and download new wallpaper when it rebootable.
6.4 Banner customization
You can customize the banner of App store, delivering relevant mobile Ads on all your devices.
Step1: Tap ‘My App Store’, click ‘Custom Banner’, select Model and upload the image.
Vertical screen machine:Best visuals:720*290; File size:<100KB; File type:JPG;
Horizontal screen machine:Best visuals:1240*340; File size:<200KB; File type:JPG;
Step2: enter the banner URL, when user click on the banner, it will open this URL page.

6.5 iBeacon settings
With an iBeacon network, any brand, retailer, app, or platform will be able to understand exactly
where a customer is in the brick and mortar environment. This provides an opportunity to send
customers highly contextual, hyper-local, meaningful messages and advertisements on their
smartphones.
The UUID, major and minor values provide the identifying information for the iBeacon. Generally
speaking, this information is hierarchical in nature with the major and minor fields allowing for
subdivision of the identity established by the UUID.

7 Machine Managment
To further manage the use of the machine, collect and analyze the usage data, we provide
functionality for partners to query machine usage.
7.1 My Data Manager
Data manager can help you collect APP Usage Data and view the mobile data usage of the device
under your company account.
Steps: Tap ‘Machine Data’, and click ’Data Manager ’
7.2 Active equipment
Active equipment: if the machine someday even over the net, and opened at least one software is
called the machine for the active equipment.
In the past 7 days, 30 days active machines: if a machine in the past 7 days /30 days active for more
than 1 days, then this machine in this data will only be calculated 1 times.

Steps: Tap ‘Machine Data’, and click ’Active Machine’
7.3 Machine Position
The machine can be positioned to the current geographical location by the network or GPS, and the
channel partner can check the distribution of their machines.

7.4 Machine Lifecycle
Click ’Machine Lifecycle’ to view the shipping data and the activation date of your machines.
7.5 Machine Application
Click ’Machine Application’ to view the current installed application information of the machine, click

8 Remote Assistance
You can remotely manage devices under your company's account through Remote assistance, check
the device information and provide support assistance for your machines, save travel time and cost.
Notice: In the following list, the number of online devices depends on whether the device is
upgraded to the latest system and whether the device uses a WiFi network!
8.1 Remote Managment
Click ‘Remote Management’ below ‘Remote Assistance’ option to browse configuration information
of the remote machine, as well as the device performance, network status information, installed
application and general settings of the machines.

8.2 Remote Control
You can view real-time using screen of the machine, and directly click ‘apply for remote control’
button for remote control, assist the other side to troubleshoot problems.
Remote control procedures:
1. Before applying for control the remote machine, please inform the other party to run ‘Remote
assistance’ APP. (If there is no ‘Remote assistance’ APP, it can be downloaded from app store.)

2. Wait for the connection to be ready. When the status indicates that ‘The connection is ready!
Waiting for incoming call...’ The remote assistance is ready.
If it prompts ‘Network unavailable, Remote Assistance cannot be established.’ Please check the
connection failure of the remote machine.
3. Locate the remote machine that needs remote control, and when the remote machine connection
is ready, the remote-control button will be optional.

4. Click ‘Apply for control’ connect to the remote machine.
5. It will show following pop-window prompt: ‘XXX apply to control your machine. Do you agree?’,
After the other side click "agree", the remote connection will be successfully established.
It is recommended to use Google Chrome browser to experience remote control function. If the
screen of remote machine can not be displayed, and prompting the error message, please refer the
following solution:
Issue 1:The screen of remote machine can not be displayed, if the flash plug-in is disabled in the
browser settings.
Solution:Enable Flash plugin in the browser settings.
Issue 2:The screen of remote machine can not be displayed, if the flash version is too low build in
the web browser.
Solution:Download and update the flash plugin, then reflash the web page.

Check if the remote machine is switched on;
Check if remote assistance app is running;
8.3 Remote Record
The Remote Record provides detailed information of remote assistance, remote connection time,
connection length, connection mode (WiFi or 3G), and the amount of traffic consumed using the 3G
connection.

8.4 Machine Map
You can always know the location information of your devices, and the number and Model of
machines in the current area will be displayed on the map.
Steps: Tap “Remote Assistance”, then click “Machine Map”, the location of the device can be searched
according to the "address" or "SN" search.
If you have device, but it is not located, please refer the following steps:
1、Please make sure the device is bound to your account.
2、Please ckeck if the device has been activated.
3、Get device location information delay, please try again later.

9 Operator Management
The Operator Management page allows you to manage operators and permissions. The Channel
partner can add operator accounts and assign specific permissions to them, lets you work with a
team to distribute apps, maintain the apps store, and manage the devices. Operators are required to
Logon to the partner platform using a Logon ID and password.
9.1 User Role
The type of information you can see or edit in an account depends on what your user role is. There
are two types of users:
[Administrator]: Users who have access to all functions and can manage operators in the account.
[Operator]: Operators only have access to some features in the account, depending on their
permissions.
9.2 Adding Operator
The Admins in an account can view and edit operator info and permissions, as well as add and
delete operators.
To create a new operator, complete the following:
1) Log into partner platform as an administrator.
2) Go to the “My Operator” page, click “Add the operator” button.

3)The Create Operator dialog is displayed. Enter the operator’s name and email. Once you have
completed entering the information click the ok button. (Once an operator has been added
modifications can not be made to the Logon Name of the operator.)
4)Select the “Select permissions” button to assign specific permissions to operator.
5)Active the operator account from the mailbox. Click the “acvive account” button and enter a
Password and re-enter it in the Confirm Password field. When finished creating the new operator,
click OK.

9.3 Deleting Operator
Once you have identified the operator that you wish to delete select the “delete” button, a window
will pop up and ask if you wish to proceed with deleting the record. Select yes to confirm the
removal of the record.
9.4 Transfer the administrator permission
The Admins in an account also can transfer the administrator permission to the operator, let this
operator become the new administrator, and the original administrator account will lose
administrator privileges.

10 Subordinate Management
A sub-account is an account set up under a primary account by Channel partner. There are two
types of sub account:
[Control subordinate]: A Control subordinate account is subordinate to a primary account. For
example, a company might set up sub accounts for each of its departments or branch offices for
grading management, the sub account shall be managed by the company's administrator (primary
account). The sub account could be created on “My Subordinate” page and does not require
registration.
[Cooperation subordinate]: The sub account is a cooperative relationship with the primary
account, cooperation subordinate manages the devices allocated to their channels independently.
For example, a distributor buys products from sunmi and resell them to other businesse partners in
their distribution channel. And the distributor can invite their customers (Software vendors, retailers)
to become new partners and the devices will be bound to their sub accounts when they sell.
Each Cooperation subordinate will have its own login ID and password.

10.1 Control Subordinate
10.1.1 How to create a Control subordinate account?
The control sub account could be created on “My Subordinate” page and does not require
registration. To create a new sub account, complete the following:
1)Go to the “My Subordinate” page, click “Add Control Subordinate” button.
2)The Create Subordinate dialog is displayed. Enter the subordinate’s name, abbreviation and
email. Once you have completed entering the information click the “Save” button. (Once a sub
account has been added modifications can not be made to the Logon Name of the sub account.)
10.1.2 How to use the Control Subordinate for management?
The Control subordinate account does not have its own login ID and password, it shall be managed
by the primary account. If you want to authorise someone to access partner platform to manage
devices of their’s department or company. You can add operators to assist management.
1) Use the primary account login partner platform.
2) Go to the “My Subordinate” page, select the Control Subordinate and click “To manage” button.

3) To create a new operator and assign specific permissions to operator. Refer to “9.2 Adding
Operator”
Noted:The control subordinate does not have permission to upload App. If the subordinate needs
this function, that he should register another partner account for uploading Apps, and the “Shelf
area” must be chosen as “No limit” when uploading apps.
Then login again with the operator (sub account) provided by the primary account, and add the
apps what he wanted to the App store of subordinate.
10.2 Cooperation Subordinate
How to create a Cooperation subordinate account?
You should use the prmary account login partner platform, and invite your customers to complete
sub account registration. Each Cooperation subordinate will have its own login ID and password.
1)Go to the “My Subordinate” page, click “Add Cooperation Subordinate” button.
2)The Create Subordinate dialog is displayed. Enter the subordinate’s name, abbreviation and
email. Once you have completed entering the information click the “Save” button. (Once a sub
account has been added modifications can not be made to the Logon Name of the sub account.)

3)Inform the subordinate to complete sub account registration procedure. If the sub account
has been activated, the state will display "normal". If the sub account is not activated, the state will
display "Waiting for registration".
4) Active the sub account from the mailbox. Click the “Login” button to open partner platform
website, then use the sub account and initial password to login and modify the password.
5) The Cooperation subordinate needs to fill in the full account information including the Business
Licence and submit it to SUNMI for account verification.

6) When the account verification process is completed (about one working day), and you will
receive the following email notification.
How to use the Cooperation Subordinate for management?
Login to the partner platform using the sub account, cooperation subordinate can manage all the
devices allocated to their channels independently. Also, you can add operators to assist
management.

10.3 Sub account role conversion
A control Subordinate can be converted into a cooperative Subordinate, which returns management
to a Subordinate and will no longer be switched back to the control Subordinate after conversion.
1.Use the primary account login partner platform.
2.Go to the “My Subordinate” page, select the Control Subordinate and click “Convert” button.
3.Enter the manager mail and click the “Save” button.
4.Inform the subordinate to complete sub account registration procedure. Refer to “10.2
Cooperation Subordinate”.

11 Common Settings
You can change the relevant settings of your devices on the ‘common Settings‘ page.
1.Allows third party applications to install: It is allowed to install applications from non-app store
sources if it enable.
2.UserCenter: If user center is disable, part or all of APPs based on SUNMI account will be disabled.
3.User Feedback: Affect the content range which user can read.
4.Debugger Access Control: If partner turn on the 'Debugger Access Control', developers must get
the access permission while they debugging the device.
5.Google Settings: Google Mobile Service built-in app, this app in your channel’s devices will be
disable after off this switch.
