STREET LIGHTSAll street lights were checked and repaired. You can call in light outages by getting the pole number and calling Crest Management at 281-579-0761.
POSTAL SERVICEIf you have any problems call 1-800-275-8777.
GOT TRASH?Trash pickup days are Tuesday and Friday every week. We would like to remind all of our subdivision residents that your trash (cans) should only be visible on these days. Trash left out for days has a tendency to be blown all over the neighborhood and can be a real eyesore. Thank you for helping keep our neighborhood clean.
STREETLIGHT OUT?If your streetlight is out,• go to the pole• get the number off the pole (should be vertical at eye level)• go home and go to www.centerpointenergy.com/outage• enter your information and the pole number• if you would like to know when it has been received and fixed, check the box to get the email notice And in a few days the light should be fixed. Thanks for being a good neighbor and keeping our neighborhood safe and bright!
NOTICE TO PET OWNERSWe love our community and so should you! Besides being a nuisance, uncollected dog waste is a serious problem for our Association. Next time you’re tempted to leave your dog’s droppings on the lawn, please remember these facts:
• The Environmental Protection Agency is becoming aggressive about enforcing the Clean Water Act. Our Association could be fined if dog waste goes uncollected.• Uncollected dog waste may lead to a special assessment. If fined by the EPA, the Association could face a potential special assessment that would be levied against all members - not just dog owners.• The appearance and quality of the common areas are known to affect home sales - not just for how much they sell, but how quickly.• The more residents complain about dog waste, the more time the manager must spend on enforcement rather than serving the Association.• Uncollected dog waste spreads disease and attracts rodents who feed on pet waste.
We love dogs - we really do. That’s why the association is committed to enforcing the county leash law on association property. According to the U.S. Humane Society, an unleashed dog has an average life span of less than four years. Allowing your dog to run free threatens your dog’s health and welfare and the happiness it brings to you.
We also love our community. That’s another reason the association is committed to enforcing the county leash law - so all residents may enjoy our community.
We trust we can count on you for voluntary compliance with the leash law. We don’t like to call animal control, but we won’t have any choice if your dog is running free.

2012-2013 CRITERIA FOR FREE & REDUCED PRICE MEALSKaty Independent School District announced its policy for providing free and reduced price meals for children eligible under the federal income guidelines for the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. Go to www.squaremeals.com to view a copy of the policy.
Children living in households whose income are at or below the federally approved levels, based on household size, may be eligible for free or reduced price meals. Transfer students approved for the program from another school district may either complete a Katy ISD application or provide documentation of their eligibility status. Foster children who are the legal responsibility of a welfare agency or court may also be eligible for benefi ts regardless of the income of the household with whom they reside.
The Nutrition and Food Service Department encourages parents in all eligible households to complete an online application prior to the start of school. Visit the district website (www.katyisd.org) for the online application.
A Free and Reduced meal application form and an information letter will also be distributed in the student’s fi rst day packet. A paper application will not need to be completed if you submitted the 2012 - 2013 application online. If your child was on the program at the end of the previous school year, they are eligible for the same benefi t for the fi rst 30 operating days of the new school year or until a new application is processed. A new application is required each school year.
The Nutrition and Food Service Department is located at 5364 Franz Rd, Katy, TX 77493. Staff is available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 2:30 PM to assist parents in completing the application. Bring the names of all members of the households and their Gross Monthly Income. For any questions, call the Katy ISD Nutrition Department offi ce at 281-396-6240.
Applications are available online, at any district school and at the food service offi ce. Applications may be submitted any time during the school year, which started on August 15, 2012. The information households provide on the application will be used for the purpose of determining meal eligibility. Application information may be verifi ed by school offi cials at any time during the school year.

The 8th Grade Katy Rebels-D’Addieco Team took 1st place in the June 30-July 1, 2012 Primetime tournament in Humble, TX. The team went 4-0 to win the tournament in convincing fashion. The zone defense continued to frustrate opponents and the extra effort to complete every hustle play led to opportunities that made the difference in the games. Their continued commitment to defense allowed them to control the pace of the games and defl ate opponents early, resulting in large margins of victory against quality teams. Congratulations to Allison, LaShanda, Kim, Sydney, Natalia, Alyssa, Emily, Delaney, Tianna and Anna on another successful tournament!
