Sun Protection for
Kids at CAMP
It's Summer Camp Season!
There are a few concerns when sending kids to camp.
One of which is teaching them to protect themselves
from the sun.
Proper Use of Sunscreen
The type of sunscreen matters.
Much of the population is allergic
to zinc oxide.
A quick check of the ingredientsin the sunscreen you intend to purchase will prevent allergic
reactions.
Ensure that the SPF is high enough, too.
SPF 30 is the minimum.
For active children it is wise to choose SPF 45 or higher.
Last, make sure it is an active-wear, sweat-resistant sunscreen.
Remind your kids of the importance of reapplication
every few hours
And make sure they know how much sunscreen to apply.
Better too much sunscreen
than a painful sunburn.
