Huntington Field: Stand guard, gather data, inform on conditions
12/02/2018 36
Post cessation of production we will flush and condition pipelines• Dynamic risers will be cut and recovered.• Installation of power buoy, umbilical and monitoring equipment• Wells to be monitored for pressure/temperature until fulldecommissioning or the field is reinstated to production withalternative FPSO• Power buoy replaces guard vessel
Babbage – ‘Manned’ and then ‘not permanently attended’
Move to NAPI
• Transition took place in April 2017,
• Power generation improved. Offers ~35-40 days at reduced diesel burn with reduced fouling due to optimised sized unit. (This is critical path driving 1 in 4
visit frequency at present)
• Single crew working 2/2. Visit platform 1 week in 4.
• Vessel (MRV) contract changed from 100% of time to 13 days per month (asset share).
• Frictape netted helideck lighting to allow 24 hr access. Low cost, easy install.
• Laser bird scarer to keep platform clean and minimise health hazards.
ContextBabbage online 2010 following phase 1 drilling (B1/B2/B3) and was originally designed to de-man shortly after first gas.Decision made to stayed manned for Phase 2 drilling (B4/B5) in 2013 and then go for de-man.
Babbage – experience and future steps
9 months down
• Less personnel and the remaining personnel exposed to less risk.
• Limited unplanned interventions handled well (3 to date)
• Maintained core crew (4) on asset whilst utilising pool crew (3-4) for remainder. Allows us to maintain consistency, competency as well as pride from long standing crew members
• Maintained exceptionally high operating efficiency (OE) at ~98% during transition. No reduction
• Reduced opex ~15-20% p.a. with further savings to follow
Next steps
• Further extend times between visits whilst maintaining asset integrity and operations uptime.
Falkland Islands –opportunity to do something different
12/02/2018 39
• The use of Integrated Intelligent Operations (IIO) presents an opportunity to apply inherently safer design by minimising non-routine personnel in hydrocarbon areas unless it is for specific pre‐planned tasks.
• The days of operators standing in hazardous areas to monitor equipment for extended periods and routine operator rounds are no longer required.
• IIO is about maximisation of intelligent input and minimisation of on-site resources.

Solan -
• The idea: Because of geographical position, begin as a manned site for first year to complete commissioning of all systems, then operate remotely.
• 2 years on: just completing installation of water treatment modifications and on cusp of down-man preparations.
