Asia-Pacific Constituency Coordination: GEF Country Support Program Activities
1. Constituency Meetings (additional fund of $ 2,000.00/meeting)
2. Direct Annual Funding ($ 8,000.00/year)
3. Sub-Regional Workshop
4. Knowledge Facility
Venue for/to:
1.Regular exchange of information, knowledge and experiences;
2.Updating and feedbacking on outcome of GEF Council meetings, new policies and programs;
Asia-Pacific Constituency Coordination:
5.Improve coordination and communication among members.
4.Strategic planning for regional Programmes;
and
3.Develop and strengthen constituency position on major and critical Council issues;
Asia-Pacific Constituency Coordination:
Constituency Positions on specific Council issues are well- grounded and articulated;
Constituency coordination creates strong partnership among Focal Points, linkages and advocacy;
Stronger Constituency Positions based on participatory and democratic consensus on pressing issues.

Regular updating and feedbacking on GEF matters and concerns through the regular conduct of sub-regional workshops and dialogues, provision of CSP Knowledge Facility and availability of Country Page and or Constituency Page
CONSTRAINTS and CHALLENGES
Absence of permanent GEF local secretariat per GEF-OFP/PFP;
Weak Information, Communication Technology (ICT) Infrastructure in most of the member countries led to poor coordination and inability to use tele-conferencing as an alternative coordination mechanism;
High turn-over of personnel resulted to loss of institutional memory on GEF matters; and
Need for additional support for various GEF-OFP activities, particularly on Constituency coordination through the use of cost efficient yet effective technology (ICT).
CONSTRAINTS and CHALLENGES
Institutionalization of the local GEF secretariat by designating at least 3 permanent key personnel/staff;
Mobilization of additional resources to
support GEF-OFP activities-capacity building, knowledge management.
Enhancement of GEF-OFP database building.
