Week of Welcome: You’re a charger, so now what? It’s time to learn your way
around campus, get involved, and participate in UAH traditions! Week of Welcome
is designed for just that with events, programs, and opportunities for all
Chargers - New and Returning - taking place during the first week of classes
each semester. WOW provides over 100 ways for you to learn more about UAH
and the opportunities that await!
Homecoming: There is no other time the UAH campus is full of more pride
than Homecoming week! Be part of the tradition that brings UAH students,
administrators, alumni, and community partners together to celebrate Charger
Spirit! Festivities include paint the Town Blue Spirit Contest, Blast from the
Past Movie Night, Can Creations Food Drive Collection, Charger Stomp Competition,
Make-A-Wish Dodgeball Tournament, Muddy Mayhem, Homecoming Parade, Midnight
Madness, and the Homecoming Formal.

Civic Engagement: One of the great things about civic engagement is that anyone can do it! Working to
help students explore their passions within service, UAH provides opportunities to give back on campus,
the local community, and nationally. Through Volunteer Chargers, students are able to take advantage
of a variety of service initiatives, including weekly service projects, an annual day of service, and
alternative break trips. Through these opportunities, students will build partnerships within the
community and instill a lifelong commitment to service.
The Association for Campus Entertainment: ACE is one of the longest standing organizations at UAH.
Completely student driven, ACE is known for its weekly programs consisting of comedians, hypnotists,
magicians, live music, and much, much more! With standing programs like “Tasty Tuesday”, “Friday Night
Flicks” and “CU Sounds”, ACE makes sure there is something for everyone to enjoy on campus! Through a
variety of educational, social, recreational, and cultural programs, its members are dedicated to the
University and work hard to present diverse activities for the campus community. These programs are
something you won’t want to miss!
Student Government Association: The Student Government Association is here for you! SGA provides a forum
for the expression of opinions on matters effecting the UAH community serving as a liaison between
students, administration, and faculty/staff. SGA strives to create an atmosphere conductive to academic
achievement while working to better the student experience through campus events and initiatives.
Student Organizations: Getting involved in a student organization isn’t just about having something to
do – it’s about making sure your collegiate experience is well rounded! Research shows that students who
are involved with a student organization feel more connected to their university and are more successful
inside of the classroom. With more than 130 student organizations, we make it easy for you to connect to
campus, share your talents, pursue your passions, and make a difference.
Fraternity & Sorority Life
Being a Charger is more than just being a student at UAH. Becoming a member of
the fraternity and sorority life community will contribute to your personal
growth through civic engagement, leadership development, scholarship, and
of course brotherhood and sisterhood. Being Greek is more than just wearing
letters. Each of the fraternity and sorority chapters at UAH has its own
focus, culture, and strengths. Joining a fraternity or sorority is not only one
of the most rewarding opportunities, but one of the best ways to enhance your
collegiate experience!

Aspire Empower Impact LEAD
The Student Life Office provides a number of programs and activities which
cultivate a foundation of leadership skills. Through participation in these
programs, students ignite the leader within and begin carving their path at
UAH. No matter your previous leadership experience, there is an opportunity for
you! These opportunities are designed to enhance personal growth, leadership
skills, and community involvement. Programs and services provided include
Aspire (specifically for First-Year students), Empower, Impact, Lead, LEAP (First-
Year Residential Mentoring Program), Student Leaders Awards Ceremony, and
the Student Leadership Conference.

UAH offers plenty of ways for you to show your school spirit and support the Chargers:BLUE CREW: Blue Crew members are the loudest and proudest fans at the Charger Nation! Members
generate crowd enthusiasm, promote school spirit, and support UAH athletes throughout the year. Blue
Crew members can be found participating in a variety of special appearances, student events, and
throughout the community generating energy and excitement for our Chargers!
CHARGER BLUE: As the #1 Charger fan, Charger Blue spends his time supporting our athletic teams and
entertaining fans year round. When he isn’t busy on the sidelines, he can be found at many campus and
community events.
CHEERLEADING: The UAH co-ed cheerleading program’s mission is to support all things athletic! Our
cheerleaders can be found as the main spirit leaders at all men’s and women’s home basketball games,
appearing at other athletic events across campus and in the community, and competing at the national
level each spring.
DANCE TEAM: The Chargerettes Dance Team is composed of students whose primary purpose is to promote
Charger spirit and enthusiasm amongst students and the UAH community. The squad serves as half-time
entertainment during men’s and Women’s basketball games and makes appearances at other campus and
community events.
PEP BAND: The UAH Pep Band is out to increase Charger pride at athletic events and give another musical
opportunity to students. You’ll find them filling the stands at home hockey and basketball games and
cheering on the Chargers in between songs. If you can play an instrument, then the Pep band is for you!
Charger Recreation
Charger Recreation provides students the opportunity for competition and
fun in a variety of athletic activities. Divisions are available for Men’s,
Women’s, and Co-ed teams and vary in skill and competition levels. Leagues
and tournament play are offered throughout the academic year, providing a
competitive and social, recreational environment. It doesn’t matter if you are
an all-star athlete or just out to have fun, Charger Recreation has something
for you!
Outside of the competitive nature, each semester an outdoor recreational
adventure is sponsored. Participants enjoy activities such as white water
rafting, zip lining, and paintball. These off campus expeditions are opportunities
to explore the great outdoors with friends!
