Naming and Profile GuidelinesTwitter names were chosen early on in development of the site. They put the region first and company second as Twitter only allows for 13 characters. Regions are named ‘region’jptourist, ‘region’jptour, and ‘region’jpt depending on the name of the region.
Each region account is blank until the user activates it and tailors it.
Profile icon should include JapanTourist name, logo and an imaged that represents your region.
Use your Twitter feed to interact with local Japanese organizations, build goodwill, promote your regional content to the world and the world to your region. Twitter is fast paced so unlike Facebook where 1-post per day is fine, you may want to post 5 or more times per day. A two hour space between posts is better than 10 posts in 2 minutes. Post often, post variety and in some cases forget the 80+/20- rule.
Please limit Hashtags (# ---) to words that follow a global stream of thought or ones that are common to your area. Learn more: http://www.twittonary.com/
When writing posts for twitter (known as tweets), make them catchy and conversational. It is not about yelling, but catching the eye of people and helping them to get more engaged. Don’t say too much but entice people to look at the article.
Partners may add their regional feed address to a tweet so that when a person shares content from JapanTourist, you will know in a mention. Do NOT add @japantouristjp to tweets. This is automatically added to the front end.
Track businesses that use Twitter. Japan has one of the largest twitter using populations in the world. Businesses and owners use it to promote their product. Follow those people and make sure to create lists to group them. You can use this later to point them to sales PDFs, sales blog posts and content related to their business or organization.

Suma Rikyu ParkRefresh at this Imperial villa turned parkWhen traveling in a foreign country, have you ever felt that something important was lacking as you looked around the various tourist sites? If you have ever thought so, and your schedule would allow it, spending some leisurely time in a place outside of the city might not be such a bad idea.
Suma Rikyu Park is the ideal place for you to make your escape from the stress of hopping from one location to another. From downtown Kobe, getting over to the park is a simple and short trip.
