#57 BROADMEAD to STOCKWOOD
Aww, those women are sweet. I love her hat. shame about the classic old woman’s shopping trolley though.
Wow. Not good that so many of the old homes round here have now been
demolished. I would hate if anyone ever did that to my home.
OH MY GOD THAT BABY IS SO ANNOYING.
That baby looks like an alien. Never seen a baby quite like that before..

That’ll be four pound love.
When I married Brian we went there, it was so friendly. It’s lovely over there in Ashton.
Not as friendly as here though.
Slightly closed off.
Didn’t feel traffic either, even though we were so near the road.
I’m a country girl, born and bread.
Our childhood home has gone now, turned into concrete and cement.

My, it’s a massive bar as well. I bet he won’t eat it all. Oh dear, am I tempting fate and will he eat it all, have a heart attack and die or
something terrible?
I bet he will eat it all now. then if he does i just look a bit mean, but it’s only in my headso that doesn’t count.
Oh wow, he really has eaten it all. I’m quite impressed that he can now stand up.
There’s a really smelly man in the corner eating a chocolate bar like his life depended on it.
That little girl has an awesome imagination. I might like to live in her head for a day or two. Might be scary
though...
I like tomatoes Mummy. I know you like tomatoes. Do you want them in your sandwich, or on the side?
In my sandwich because i like them please.
Can I have my sandwich now Mummy?
How are you?Alright, and you?
Never done it, no. This was stupid. It meant nothing to me or anything.
No love, we need to get home first and make your sandwich!
We’ll be home soon darling - can you start making the sandwiches for Ella?
Thanks love. Mummy, can you call me Pete?
Why love? That’s a boy’s name. But I like it, so call me Pete.
Smelly Pete?
Thank you Mummy. Alright love, I will, Pete.
No, just Pete. Nice Pete.

Oh ok, there’s a church. This is probably a good place to start...
.. Oh good. It’s locked. This is clearly a really welcoming and warm
community. Well done for picking this one.
Shops might be a better idea actually. I’m also really hungry; maybe i’ll stop
and have lunch here. Looks ok.
Where am I?? Is this even the right stop?
I passed a pub on the bus, maybe i’ll ask there if they can
answer my questions..?

There’s a blogger called ‘Stockwood Pete’ who rants about the lack of bicycle stands around here. Is that a big issue in this area?
Have you gone to uni then?
Did the death of the little boy, Levi, affect the community living near here?
Have you got a loan out? and have your friends?
So are there loads of different kinds of people here then?
So you must know laods of people your age around here then?
MY QUESTIONS HER ANSWERS
Because everyoneknows everyone the news travelled fast round the grapevine. Stockwood was totally silent
that afternoon.
I don’t think Stockwood is really a bicycle based community.
It’s quite an elderly place because of the four old peoples’ and nursing homes.
I’m at Bath university because of my friends and family being close by.
I think people are stressing about the increase of uni fees more than they should be.
I went to secondary school in Kingswood and there were so many diverse religions.
From my friends in Stockwood I think four people my age went to uni, so for them it’s not really an issue.
Only two people I know have moved away.
There’s only one primary school here so I know everyone my age.
They just don’t seem to move out of Stockwood.

Aaaand the words make no sense in picture form, that would have been
a cool outcome, but it does look ridiculous.
I’ll make a grid and go from there. Who is my audience?
ok, just start the design and fit the words in afterwards. it’ll be great.
Students and young families, I want people to see how fondly this young girl thinks of Stockwood.

designing something more modern to put in the city centre to try and attract newcomers, young couples and families to live in Stockwood.
I used modern design and photography networking sight ‘Pinterest’ as an inspiration.
So with the interview competed and my market identified I started
Some of the design ideas used above I tried to take through to my own work on this project.

The locations where I chose to display my poster proved to be either out of the
way of the general public, attracting no attention whatsoever, or getting ripped down by passers by and thrown into near by bins. An interesting reaction from
the town that my poster was trying to support and advertise!
