Check-in Message: Tuesday 2nd February 2021 Happy Tuesday Primary 2! How are you doing today? Tuesdays are always less tricky than Mondays so I truly hope you are all well and feeling ready to learn Let me know how you are feeling on Padlet https://padlet.com/erikacassar06/lvuunwbj407c0nfo
Today is as exciting as yesterday! Lots of activities are planned for today including a Valentine’s day-themed craft and a sumdog challenge which starts today! You will be also practising some Read Write Inc words and also focusing on the Number of the Day for Numeracy. Apart from working on this week’s Scottish Focus, make sure to find some time to enjoy yourself and play. It is so important to have a break
As part of Scottish Focus Week, all the classes have been assigned a different Scottish song or poem. Our song is called Three Craws which you can listen to here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7gDmjidG9E . On the school website under our classroom’s resources, I have also popped a poster called Primary 2 – Project Task to look at what your task is all about
Have a lovely day of home learning boys and girls

LI: I am able to practise and memorise the spelling of a list of words.
Ms Sealy’s Group can look at the ASFL section for their Literacy lesson. https://stfrancisrcprimary.wordpress.com/asfl/
Introduction: Start off by revising the different sounds as we do in class. Open the Spelling Introduction powerpoint (in the resource section under Primary 2 on the school website) and uncover each square. Under each square hides a letter. For each letter, say its sound, 3 times just like we do in class.
Can you think of a word that starts with this sound? Can you think of a word that starts with this sound and include it in a sentence?
Now you will be given a list of words to practise, according to your group colour in class. These are words that you have already come across in class.

L.I: I am able to follow instructions to make a love bug
February is known as the month of love and therefore we will be preparing for Valentine’s day by creating some cute love bugs!
1. Grab an empty toilet roll and paint it in your favourite colour. Leave to dry.
2. Ask an adult to help you use a skewer or sharp tool to poke 3 holes down each side of the roll, just like the
picture. 3. Pass the pipe cleaners
through the holes. 4. Use your glue to stick the
googly eyes at the top of the roll and the pompom for the nose.
5. Continue to decorate the roll using markers, glitters, beads, gems and any other item you may want to use.
6. Cut out two antennae with hearts on top to be stuck
