Dearly Beloved in Christ,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ.
“And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.”
Luke 2:40.
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52
A Modern Artist painted a picture of a Modern Student; the picture is as such, “A child with a Big Head, a
narrow Chest and Lean legs”, a funny picture when we think but despite it carries a huge meaning, Here
the artist wants to bring into light the plight of today's Child. that is, the head shows the development of
the intellectual capacity; the chest shows the narrow heart that means there is meager amount of
feelings and the lean legs depict the weakness in facing today's trouble.
This month as we are entering into a new academic year; we are living in a world full of knowledge
available on our finger tips but are we able to life challenges??? The purpose of real education is the
total development of a person or humanity. As rightly said by Mahatma Gandhi “Education makes a
better man, a different man and a new man.” So Education is a means for the total well-being of the
society. Education is not a collection of information but it is an integral growth through transformation.
The above mentioned verse of Jesus Christ's Childhood is a model of our educational system.
1. INTELLECTUAL GROWTH: Those who are born as human needs intellectual growth. As the
above mentioned verse Jesus too has grown in Wisdom. Likewise, to develop the intellectual capacity
should be the desire of all the humans. Only then the proper development of the society occurs
according to God's Will. Prov 3:13, “Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain
understanding,” We should utilize the resources of knowledge. Prov 8:11, “for wisdom is more precious
than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.” Through fullness of knowledge we can attain
true realization in our life.
2. SPIRITUAL GROWTH: We learn the God-centered living through the life example of Jesus Christ.
Physical Quotient and Intellectual Quotient are the main focus point for today's education. If the motive
of education is the overall development of a person that would include a Spiritual Quotient also.
According to the researches, the main culprit of the problems in the society is because of the lack of
Religious Activities. So the Spiritual Quotient is the important matter in the modern educational system.
If we don't give importance to this Spiritual Quotient it may cause ethical degradation.
3. SOCIAL GROWTH: “No man is an Island” for the sustenance of the society this quote holds well.
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52. This verse
shows an example of how Jesus was and how we should be. Education is said to be as “man making.”
The basement for a Good Society is laid by Good Individuals. When are socially responsible, the role of
Education is fulfilled.
So let us learn to live, learn to love and learn to listen. Let the new academic year be a blessing to all of
you. Let the Almighty God be with all of us.
Last month we had our Choir Social, Sunday School Competitions and examinations and Youth Fun
Day. By God's Grace everything went on well. But the lamenting truth is that the attendance at these
programs is much below than what it should be.. As we are entering into a new Financial Year from April
2016; I exhort everyone to participate in all our planned and unplanned activities as it will help in the
development of our Church and also our individual spiritual life.
I wish all of you a Happy and Blessed Easter. May the Good Lord Bless you all abundantly.

Sunday School AnniversaryOur Sunday School Anniversary was celebrated on the 3rd April in All Saints'
Church. The Sunday school teachers executed their specific assignments in
the worship service with great reverence. Jessy Johnson gave the message
on “Obedience as a way of Parenting with God in Restoring Paradise.” The
Holy Family comprising Jesus, Mary and Joseph is a model family for us to
emulate. The obedience, faith, humility and sacrifice of Joseph and Mary in
molding young Jesus are exemplary traits which we as parents must imbibe
in our children so that they are able to discern the will of God and become
willing partners in spreading the Gospel and restoring the lost paradise.
Christy Achen emphasized on the full participation of our children in Sunday
school and stressed on their giving equal importance to Sunday school along
with their academics. The children presented a skit and sang a group song.
Owing to time constraint, more items could not be presented. Prizes were
given away to all the children commensurate with their performance in
various events. The Sunday school report was read by Mrs. Latha Johnson.
The Sunday School Year from 2017 will be January-December, instead of
June-May, and for the current year, the session will be June to December
2016. With this change we trust the normal academic studies will not clash
with the Sunday school activities or vice versa. We pray and hope our parents
would ensure that their children regularly attend the Sunday school this year
onwards. Latha Johnson
EndowmentsMrs. Annamma Koshy has enhanced the endowment corpus to Rs.60,000 in
memory of her husband Koshy Tharian. The proceeds from it are earmarked
for medical aid. We thank her and her children for this kind gesture. .With the receding interest rates year after year, the yield from such
endowments becomes smaller. In fact, presently, the amounts we disburse
as scholarships or prizes are much more than what we get as annual interest.
We would therefore urge the benefactors to either increase the corpus to
earn the matching interest or reimburse the parish with the difference
between the scholarship amount and the annual interest earned. For
example, if the scholarship is Rs.2000 and interest earned is only Rs.1500,
then the difference of Rs.500 need to be reimbursed to the parish. Do please
remember that the endowment corpus is not to be treated as a savings
account and the principal amount is not permitted to be partly or fully
withdrawn. Members are exhorted to start such endowments with substantial sums so as
to perpetuate the memory of their beloved ones.
ObituaryMrs. Ponnamma George, mother of Mr. Mathew George and sister of Mr. O.
M. Mammen and Mr. Chandy Mammen, passed away on April 15 and
interned on April 17. We join all the bereaved family members and pray the
Lord Almighty to provide them heavenly courage to bear this irreparable loss.
May her soul rest in peace.

A Short Prayer Dear Lord, these three things I pray: to see Thee more clearly, to love Thee
more dearly, follow Thee more nearly – day by day. In Christ's peerless and
precious name I ask it. Amen.
Please send your contributions to this bulletin or suggestions, if any, to
“To Our Dear Child”On the day when you see us old, weak and weary, have patience and do try
to understand us.
If we get dirty when eating and if we cannot dress on our own, please bear
with us and remember the time we spent feeding you and dressing you
up.
If, when we speak to you, we repeat the same things over and again……do
not interrupt us … listen to us. When you were small, we had to read you
the story a thousand and one times until you went to sleep.
When we do not want to have a shower, do not shame us or scold us.
Remember, we had to chase you with your thousand excuses to get you
to the shower!
When at some moments we lose the memory or the thread of our
conversation, let us have the necessary time to remember as the most
important thing is not our conversation but simply to be with you and to
have you listening to us.
Lend us your helping hand the same way we did when you tried your fist
faltering steps.
And when someday we say to you that we don't want to live any more….do
not get angry…try to appreciate that our age is not just lived but
survived.
Some day you will realize that despite our mistakes we always wanted the
best for you. You must not feel sad, angry or ashamed for having us near
you. Instead, try to understand us and help us like we did when you
were young.
Help us to walk….Help us to live the rest of our life with love and dignity.
We will pay you with a smile and the immense love we have always had
for you in our hearts.
