Please remember the members of our Collaborative who have gone home to God. May their souls, and the souls of all our faithful departed share in the fullness
Dear parishioners of St. Paul and St. John Parishes,
It is with great joy that I tell you that I will be ordained to the Sacred Priesthood of Jesus Christ by His Eminence Cardinal Sean O’Malley on Saturday, August 1, 2020, in a private Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. While the
current circumstances have posed many challenges in planning for this day, I could not be happier that this day has arrived. My heart is full when I consider that I will soon share in Christ’s priesthood.
I would like to express my gratitude to all of you as this day approaches. The support of this community has bolstered me in so many ways throughout my 7 years of priestly formation and in the years preceding it. Thank you for
WELCOME TO THE CHURCH! We offer our prayers and congratulations to our catechumens and candidates who were welcomed into the Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 8 at St. John the Evangelist Church. Blessings to Stephanie, Hal, Brandi, Julie and Reagan!
your kindness and your encouragement, which have been constant. These carry me and spur me on to the joy of the priestly life that I will soon be living.
While the Mass of Ordination will be private, as well as my first Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s on August 2, both of these events will be livestreamed. More detail of the livestreams will follow via email and on the Collaborative website in the next couple of weeks.
Please pray for me in the coming weeks and be assured of my prayers for each of you. May God bless you! Sincerely, Deacon Matthew Norwood

LAUDATO SI CARING FOR OUR COMMON HOME.
The gospel messages these summer weeks compare the kingdom of God to earthy images. Digging into the earth can remind us of the discovery of hidden things, finding lifegiving roots and insects that are integral to soil.
Earth is life sustaining for many forms of God’s creation in the soil and in the sea. Jesus uses images of seed planted in soil and nets into the sea to teach us awareness of the fruitfulness in God’s kingdom.
Pope Francis’ message in Caring for our Common Home in Laudato Si’ gives us a road map to find new ways of living in harmony with earth and protecting it for the future.
First steps begin at home. Looking at where and how we live and our interactions with nature can give us opportunities for some positive changes. www.sustainablewellesley.com is a local resource for ideas. Hope you discover new ways of living sustainably! We would enjoy your comments on the ideas and messages of these bulletin inserts. We’d love to hear from you! Deb Egan [email protected] Barbara Pyles [email protected]
