Meet Your Parishioners
Greetings in Christ! My name is John Kokel. I am the father of two adult children: Andrea and Adam, and the grandfather of two. My children come and spend some time with me during the win-ter months as our home is in British Columbia, Canada but we snowbird here in Buckeye. We love our home-away-from-home and thank God for the St. Henry Community that we’ve been part of since 2013. I participate in study & activities with the St. Henry Men’s Group. I also enjoy a good theological conversation with Fr. Billy during live Coyote hockey games when the Canadian teams are in town! My Favorite Saint: Pope St. John Paul the Great because he gave us the Catechism of the Catholic Church which contains so much knowledge and helps us understand our Catholic faith without error. A Bible passage that I find to be profound and important for our understanding of who Jesus is, can be found in St. John’s Gospel at the very beginning of Chapter 1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
A Walk to Bethlehem With Fr. Billy Saturday, December 8, 2018
Gather in St. Henry Church Parking Lot at 8:30 AM. Return to St. Henry @ 1:00 PM. Fr. Billy invites all St. Henry men (teen-aged
and older) to accompany him on a walk across the desert to the Poor Clares’ Monastery north of Tonopah. He has named the Pilgrimage, “A Walk to Bethlehem”. The pilgrimage is a unique and inspiring Advent activity. It is a way to enhance your faith, bond with your son/grandson and with other men. We will carpool into the desert. If you can drive other men, please come prepared to do so. We will walk for about a mile and a half, celebrate Mass, hear a short talk by one of the resident nuns and have lunch before head-ing back. Those who do not want to walk will ride all the way to the Monastery. Please Email your intent to attend to: [email protected]
Christmas Eve Mass in Estrella Mountain Park

This Mass is offered for the convenience of those who live in the area to worship/fellowship with parishioners in your vicinity. All are invited to celebrate the birth of our savior. For more information, or if you plan to attend (we’d like to get an idea of how many people for whom to plan seating) please contact Caroline Adams at 623-242-7742.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION MASS: Saturday, December 8th at 8:30am in the parish hall
The Feast of the Immaculate Concep-tion reflects upon the Church’s dogma that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was preserved from original sin from the moment of her conception in order that she could possibly pass on to Jesus a perfect unstained human nature that would be combined with a divine nature without contradiction or conflict. Mary’s unique state of holiness (unseen in history since the creation of Adam & Eve who unfortunately lost their sinless condition and the ability to pass it on naturally) provides God with a proper person through whom the Savior of the world, the Word incarnate, Jesus, can enter time and space with a physical human body, mind, and will. St. Henry will celebrate the Feast of the Immacu-late Conception at 8:30am on Saturday, December 8th
