Words from our Pastor Unas palabras de nuestro Pastor

I Sunday of Advent
Brothers in Christ Jesus our Light,
Today we are beginning a new year, a year that we
hope will be a new and better year, placing our
hopes in Jesus whom we have proclaimed King of
our lives. Advent is a time of hope, a time that pre-
pares us for the coming of Jesus, it is a time that
many Christians hope to remember the importance
of Jesus who is born and comes to show us the way
to live our lives on the way to salvation. The Church
rejoices to remember that glorious coming of Jesus.
And that through four Sundays we reflect and unite
with the key characters in the history of salvation
and that God chose in a special way. On the first
Sunday we reflected on the Virgin Mary, highlight-
ing her virtues of humility and dedication to God,
when we looked at Mary as a happy woman who
had the opportunity to give birth to her own creator
and always remain a virgin. As we begin this season
of Advent as a new year, let us do as Psalm 94 says
“let us acclaim the God who saves us. Let us draw
near to Him, full of joy and give Him thanks! "
That together with Mary, we await the birth of Jesus
in our lives, living his virtues of dedication and hu-
mility.
