Sports Medicine CenterThe St. Francis Sports Medicine Center provides a

comprehensive sports medicine service, offering the finest evaluation and management strategies to active patients of all ages and all activity and skill levels. Through a multidisciplinary approach, we care for all athletic injuries in recreational and competitive ath-letes and strive to restore their active lifestyles.

Our staff includes fellowship-trained surgeons, physical therapists, and athletic trainers with decades of combined experience. Our surgeons are recognized as regional, national, and international leaders in their respective areas of expertise. They are committed to continued excellence in their fields by training other physicians, physician assistants, therapists, athletic trainers, and nurses at the local, national, and interna-tional levels.

Using the sports medicine program developed by our consultant, we provide full-time coverage for the stu-dent-athletes at Brookstone School and St. Anne-Pacelli School. Our athletic trainers are present at each school’s athletic events and, with our physicians, George M. McCluskey III, MD, and Robert G. Lewis, MD, provide quality, accessible care.

The Sports Medicine Center is located in the St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute. The facility offers state-of-the-art evaluation and management equipment, includ-ing digital imaging and surgical suites, as well as a fully equipped outpatient rehabilitation center. The orthopaedic inpatient unit offers tailored orthopaedic care during inpatient visits. An arthroscopic teaching laboratory and clinical research staff enable our physicians to constantly evolve and perfect the management and outcomes in their patients.

The Sports Medicine Center is a referral center serv-ing the southeastern United States. We routinely treat recreational, amateur, and professional athletes and nonathletes with simple and complex upper and lower extremity musculoskeletal injuries. Our physicians are well trained in, but not limited to, procedures, such as

arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs; arthroscopic treat-ment of shoulder instability; arthroscopic treatment of the elbow, hip, foot, and ankle; and arthroscopic knee reconstructions.

Through a coordinated approach based on science, continuing education, and clinical outcomes, the St. Francis Sports Medicine Center provides patients with a center of excellence for the treatment of their activity-related musculoskeletal injuries.
