SEEIC Communication Platform 2013
Key Messages:• SEE 2020 is a unique regional development and growth strategy,
compatible to EU integration goals of the countries of the region. • By implementing SEE 2020 strategy economies in the SEE region will have:
growth of trade and export rates; higher level of direct foreign investments; higher number of registered new businesses; increased employment within a higher salary rate bracket; and an increase in the number of higher educated workforce.
• The strategy SEE 2020 will also reform and improve public administration, strengthen the rule of law and assist government efficiency, hence creating a business-friendly environment.
SEEIC Communication Platform 2013
Key Messages:• SEE 2020 is the main platform for interaction with bilateral and
multilateral donors that will assist donor communities in directing their planning activities and technical/financial assistance whilst at the same time providing a clear environment for donor cooperation and coordination.
• The SEE 2020 reflects an EU dimension and selects concrete initiatives which help push strategy development forward, assisting states to achieve EU standards and national headline targets.
SEEIC Communication Platform 2013
Key Messages:• It is important to join actions in improving the image of the region and build a
perception of SEE as an ideal business location in order to reach 2020 targets.• “Coopetition“ (competition + cooperation) is new and innovative approach to
investment promotion in SEE region. Competition between SEE economies is and should stay a key driving force behind all processes. However, regional cooperation provides a myriad of opportunities to overcome the relatively small size of single economies and to take an advantage of a harmonized approach.
• Creation of a larger and more competitive investment area with the development of a regional investment promotion mechanism is an added value to each of the region’s economies.
