winter seasons but also the assessment by international
expert judges. For example, the Großarltal-Dorfgastein
ski link won the 2004/05 European Ski Area Test in the
categories “snow-making”, “slope maintenance” and
“ticket office competence” and achieved the excellent
second place overall. The constantly perfectly groomed
pistes have become the hallmark of the Großarltal ski

The very special thing of summer in the Großarltal valley is the wealth
of serviced Alpine huts. Like in times gone by, still today the farmers
bring their cattle and sheep to the high-lying Alpine pastures to let them
graze on the lush mountain meadows. There are almost 40 huts which
provide the hikers on their tours with homemade delicacies, from a glass
of freshmilk, homemade bread and the tasty yellow Alpine butter to the
famous home-distilled schnapps.
In harmony with nature
This could be the motto of your next hiking holiday in the Großarltal.
About 220 km of marked hiking paths will take you through the unique
fauna and flora of the local mountains, as far as into the region of the
Hohe Tauern National Park at the end of the valley. For mountain bikers
there are about 120 km of marked trails throughout the valley.
Our GREEN side
In the Großarltal nature is still intact. Different measures, such as the
supply of the villages Großarl and Unterberg with heat from the almost
emission-free, wood-firedwood chip heating plant, guarantee that youwill
spend a wonderful holiday here in the nature.

The Easter bunny will bring free ski passes for all children up to 15 years
of age (born in 1993 or after) if they spend with their parents at least
7 nights (proof required!) in the Großarltal.
The precondition is that one parent purchases a ski pass for the same
period (at least 6 days) and that by means of photo identification of all
family members it is proved that the family belongs together. Except
for holders of season tickets and ski charge cards.

Family Bonus
– Children between 6 and 15 years of age (born in 1993 or after) aregranted the reduced children’s price (approx. 50% reduction asagainst the adults’ price).
– From the 3rd child within a family free ski passes are granted for theyoungest children/youngsters. Precondition: purchase of a ski pass byat least one parent and the first two children or youngsters (born1990-2002).
– Official photo ID for the entire family and proof of same household required.
– Small children (born in 2003 or after) generally ski free of charge inGroßarl.
– Delicacy bonus for children in Großarl: Children get one kids’ meal anda small drink at the special price of € 6 daily at all ski huts that aremarked with a smiley (presentation of the children’s ski pass).
Free ski bus in Großarl – to Hüttschlag and Alpendorf
Every 15 minutes a ski bus runs through the village area which takes youto the valley terminal of Großarl’s cable cars. Several times a day, at a fixedtimetable, a bus also runs through the entire Großarltal valley as far asHüttschlag and Alpendorf. It is necessary to show the ski pass or visitor’scard.

We ask for your understanding that despite grooming thequality of the pistes can suffer, especially on days after heavysnowfalls, as the fresh snow that is so much loved by wintersports enthusiasts has not compacted with the compressedsnowcovering of the piste underneath and thus tends tocreate snow heaps.
Terms of transportation for children
Small children of a height below 1.10 m must be transpor-ted on a suitable person’s lap. Children of a height of 1.10 mto 1.25 m may only be transported when accompanied by anadult. Persons taller than 1.25 m can use the transportati-on facility without an accompanying person.
