Simplified Data Management Plan Exercise: Regina Raboin’s Lecture
Regina will present the process of working with faculty and creating data
management plans. She will share her experiences as the coordinator of
Tisch Library’s Research Data Management Services, a group of subject and
metadata librarians who assist in writing DMPs that meet NSF, NIH and
Digital NEH grant requirements. In order to prepare for her lecture, you will
create a data management plan for a research case. Use readings and
information from the previous lectures to help you build your plan.
Plan due during class activity/discussion: September 27th
1. Review the Research Data Management Case B: Regeneration of
Functional Heart Tissue in Rats presented by Donna in the first class
meeting:
http://library.umassmed.edu/necdmc/necdmc_researchcase_regeneration.do
cx**Pay particular attention to pp. 3-5.
2. Create a 2-page simplified data management plan:
● use the discussion questions at the end of the case to help you address
all 7 Modules for Managing Research Data
● note where more and what type of information will be needed to be
obtained from the researcher/s in order to have as complete data
management plan as possible
