This was conducted to determine the effects of amplitude or angle, the mass of the bob and length of string to the period of pendulum then measure the value of acceleration due to gravity by simple pendulum. With the use of metal bob attached in a required length of string, the students had observed, measured the angle and recorded the time of the oscillation of the pendulum up to complete 20 vibrations and the same procedure are made to the other two by changing the mass of metal bob and the length of string.

Questions for Formal Report1. Using your groups data obtained from the experiment, graph the length of pendulum and the square of its period. Determine the relationship that exists between the length of a pendulum and the square of its period.

The relationship that exists between the two is direct relationship; the square of the period (y) is directly proportional to the length of pendulum (x). In other words, as one quantity goes up, the other quantity also rises.

2. What are the factors affecting the period of a simple pendulum? The factors affecting the period of simple pendulum are the length of the string of simple pendulum and gravity. Other factors such as mass of the metal bob and amplitude or angle of pendulum has little or almost no effect on the period.

3. What must you do to the length of a simple pendulum so that its period is doubled?Since the relationship between the length of pendulum and the period is directly proportional, you must also double the length of simple pendulum to double its period.

4. Determine the acceleration due to gravity in a location where a simple pendulum 1.50 m long makes 100 vibrations in 246 seconds.
