KEY FUNCTIONALITY
Key Information At Your Fingertips HOW MILTON KEYNES USE fSERIES FOR VIRTUAL SCHOOLS FOR LAC
At Milton Keynes the Virtual School team needs to look up students quickly across a
wide variety of key factors; by demographic, attendance, those with (or without) PEPs,
and much more. Michele Mellor, Virtual School Headteacher at Milton Keynes
Council, reports that adopting fSeries for Virtual Schools for LAC provides:
The ability to work in real time without requiring reports created by data analysts
Increased consistency in the information held, because inconsistencies across teams in the authority can be quickly identified and amended
Time saved
How It Works EASY TO USE, EASY TO MANAGE, AND EASY TO IMPLEMENT
Fibonacci’s fSeries comprises a number of tools for gathering your data from different
sources such as Liquidlogic LCS and Capita ONE, and combines it together in a variety of
output options, just how you want it to be displayed on screen or in a report.
fPanels provides interactive visualisations based on your data, and fDocs produces
quality documents in a variety of formats such as Word, PDF, and more. These can be
added to menus that can be shared within designated teams at a local authority.
Managing presentations, outputs and menus is a simple drag-and-drop process to
place your data where it’s needed.
The Leaving Care Report brings together students celebrating their 18th birthday this academic year, where their care
ending date has either not yet been set, or has been set within this year. The list can be sorted as required, or exported
to Microsoft Excel.
TAKING THINGS FURTHER
Creating your own additional
reports is simple— we do the hard bits
so you don’t have to. Laying out
presentations is drag-and-drop using a
web browser, and our fDocs template
design tool for Word gives you all the
power of Word with your data in the
right place using a simple point-and-
click interface.
WHAT CAN IT REPORT ON? fSeries can connect to almost any data
source, whether it be an
Access, Oracle or SQL database, an
Excel spreadsheet, or raw XML or text
data.
Our customers have connected fSeries
to a wide range of
databases including Capita ONE,
Liquidlogic LCS, OLM CareFirst, Anite
Swift, Dynamics CRM, and more.
WHAT HARDWARE IS NEEDED? fSeries is based on Microsoft.NET
technology and requires a Windows
machine running IIS7 or above. We
recommend Microsoft Server 2008 or
above.
Our full technical requirements can be
found on our help site:

A POWERFUL TRACKER The most powerful part of fPanels lies in it’s ability to rank and filter data in one
click, right on the screen. The VSLAC Snapshot Tracker (above) shows the whole
cohort of pupils within LAC, with totals by gender, placement, national
curriculum year, ethnicity, SEN stage and school.
By clicking on any item the cohort can be filtered; clicking multiple items allows
you to group pupils by ethnicity and gender, or school and placement and SEN
stage. Filtering happens immediately in the browser.
The resulting cohort can then sorted by any attribute on screen and exported to
Excel for use in your own reporting.

fDocs provides clear, easy to read documents using all the design power of Microsoft Word. Outputs such as
the PEP Report or Pupil Premium and Grant Funding Report and can be produced in one click as DOC,
DOCX, PDF, RTF, XLS, or a range of other formats.
All trademarks are acknowledged as belonging to their respective owners.
Fibonacci has no connection nor any association with Microsoft, Liquidlogic, Anite, OLM, or Capita plc.
HOW SECURE IS IT?
Data security is built into the
system and can extend all the way to
blocking individual fields if
needed. Single sign-on using Active
Directory is supported, along with
audit logs for user/client access.
At no point does fSeries retain client
information—data comes direct from
the source onto the page.
We have been working with local authorities for over a decade to
help social workers get the data they needed to see in one place,
and to create well designed outputs that show the important
information they need, how they need it.
Just as important is our approach to customer service. It means a
lot to us for our customers to get as much as they can out of
fSeries and at the same time listen to what they tell us to get it
better and better all the time.
We pride ourselves on our word-of-mouth reputation and if you
would like to speak to any of our customers, please let us know
and we’ll be happy to put you in touch with a local authority using
fSeries.
