Presentation Notes
This figure shows the results of the of the PFOA/PFOS analysis on samples collected from area wells. Results shown are the summation of PFOA and PFOS. Triangles represent monitoring wells associated with the Coakley Landfill and circles represent private drinking water wells. Red and orange identify sample locations that exceed the established AGQS of 70 ppt. Yellow and green show results that were below the AGQS. As you can see, the data do appear to confirm that the landfill is a source of PFCs with concentrations as high as 1,100 ppt. No residential wells sampled exceeded the standard. Only two wells had detections; one shown in yellow (the Golf Clubhouse water supply at 25 ppt PFOA) and another in this area with 8.1 ppt PFOS.

Coakley Landfill
General ◦ Area well review (postcards to be mailed week of 9/19) ◦ Support EPA in further evaluation of PFOA/PFOS ◦ Surface water & sediment sampling for 1,4-dioxane &
PFOA/PFOS North of Landfill ◦ Residential well sampling to continue ◦ Compliance wells (demonstrate clean boundary) ◦ Water main extension to proposed subdivision ◦ Support Town of Greenland in sampling of residential wells
South of Landfill ◦ PRP-lead residential well sampling to continue ◦ Compliance wells to be identified
East of Landfill ◦ Confirm groundwater flow direction ◦ Evaluate next steps
