FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 – Lead Renovator Training
Effective April 2010, there are new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
regulations that affect all individuals who conduct renovations or repairs
including painting or window replacements for any housing constructed
prior to 1978. Property management companies and owners performing
renovations or repairs on pre-1978 housing are required to become a
certified renovation firm to be in compliance with federal law. This eight-
hour course was developed by the EPA. The class is designed to train
contractors who perform building renovations or repairs and, painting and
window contractors on how to work safely on housing with lead-based paint
and comply with EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule.
Cancellation Policy: In order to comply with EPA guidelines, cancellations must be made 7 days before scheduled
class to receive tuition refund. All students must be registered in advance of a class. There will be no onsite
registration.

Rent Control: it's a dreaded phrase that no rental property owner or

In this course, CAA Tri-County discusses local rent control ordinances

rent control property in San Jose, and Los Gatos. This interactive

Leonard W. Williams, CPA has spoken at our functions many times over
the years, and wrote a column on taxes in the CAA Tri-County magazine
for many years. The tax column will resume shortly in the Apartment
Management magazine. He has been a speaker at the tax updates of the
California CPA Society several times over the years, and writes a monthly
column on California taxes for the California CPA Society's magazine. He
was quoted in the "Wall Street Journal" this past March on the CA use tax.
