Norcote’s inks meet the stringent demands of the
Beverage Market, while still providing the required
characteristics for the Health & Beauty, Pharmaceuti-
cal and Petroleum Markets.
Decal / NameplateNorcote manufactures outstanding inks for the Prod-
uct Identification Market including nameplates,
markings, labels and decals. These are typically
printed first or second surface on various opaque and
transparent substrates including metals, polycarbon-
ates, Mylar® films, polyester films, PVC and pressure
sensitive vinyl. These products may be embossed or
stamped and are die-cut after printing. A pressure
sensitive adhesive may be applied to the reverse side
of the part.
Loose LeafNorcote was the first manufacturer to supply UV inks
to the Binder and Loose Leaf Markets. This market
focuses on the decoration of vinyl binders, book
cloth, covers, plastic packaging and sheet materials.
Selecting the right ink is dependent upon the
substrate and post-print finishing processes such as
heat-sealing and die-cutting.

Metallic Pastes & InksWhen printing inks containing paste, select mesh with openings large enough to transfer the metallic pigments of choice; generally a
or lower is required. Metallic prints can look different before and after printing due to leafing, overlapping of particles. When view-ing color be aware that the print will appear darker when viewed at an angle instead of viewing straight on. Pigmented inks in the same series may be added to modify the metallic color. Caution: Mix only enough ink for one day.

Fluorescents
The advantages of fluorescent (DayGlo®) colors are their brightness under many different conditions such as indoor lighting, low light conditions outdoors and limited visibility areas. A bright non-fluorescent color is able to reflect about 90 percent of a color present in the light spectrum. A fluorescent color can reflect as much as 200 percent. Norcote offers both liquid and powder fluorescents. These can be added up to 20-25% of the total weight of the ink you are working with.

Profiling Radiometers
Using A UV Radiometer Can Save Time And Money!• Set-up time reduced
• Reduce cost of “sacrifice” work pieces
• Replace lamps and reflectors only when necessary
• Avoid costly downtime
• Avoid production of unsatisfactory products
To be able to produce quality product consistently is really the end goal in any process. By monitoring UV levels in a curing system, it is possible to produce quality product time after time and avoid the production of bad product due to improper curing. It is very difficult to measure the cost of producing bad product. Of course, the cost of the materials and labor is lost. In addition, the cost of bad product increases exponentially the closer it gets to the customer before it is discovered.
