Throughout the first semester these students were able to partake in IMPACT, online learning
through the Brisbane School of Distance Education, with a focus on Solve It - Numeracy.
Students were challenged weekly with problem solving activities and developed skills and
strategies they can continue to use in their learning. These students need to be acknowledged
for their enthusiasm and dedication to their learning.
Congratulations Matilda, Kelby, Amelia, Tylah, Jamie, Hayden, Cooper, Ashlee, Jed, Lindsie,

Robots visit 2A
Year 2A have been studying digital design and technology this
Semester. They have designed a personal page, coded animations
with the program ‘Scratch’ and were
privileged to have the opportunity to
program robots last Thursday. Special
thanks to Francis and Rachel from
Atherton Library for bringing the robots
and sharing their expertise with the
students. We all learnt so much and had
great fun as well.
Junior Choric
Speakers Years 1 and 2 performed ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’

Courtney, Madeline, Mikayla, Lara and Angelina.
REPORT CARDS
Our first Reporting period is almost upon us and Tolga State School will be trialling the emailing of Report Cards. What this
means for parents and carers is that you will continue to receive a hard copy of the report card at the end of this term with an
additional copy being emailed to parents whose emails are on the system. We will be seeking feedback from parents
regarding the emailing of report cards to improve the practice in Semester 2 and eventually move to, where possible, sending
report cards out via email only.
QParents
With positive feedback from parents we are continuing our journey of inviting parents to use QParents with invites being sent
out to Prep parents this week.
The QParents web and mobile application provides a more convenient, easier way for parents and legal guardians of Queensland state school students to interact with their child’s school. Parents will have secure, online access to their child’s student information, anytime, anywhere, through a smartphone, tablet or computer. QParents allows parents to connect instantly with their child’s school to access and manage their child’s student information, including:
Attendance and absence details, as well as the ability to notify the school of an absence
Behaviour information
Academic report cards
We will be increasing the QParents resource to include finances as we progress throughout the year QParents will assist both staff and parents in sharing and responding to information in an efficient and effective way.
