SYNOPSIS
The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with an epic fairytaleabout wishes, family and the choices we make.
The Brothers Grimm "go Broadway" as Sondheim andLapine offer up a cockeyed fairy tale in Into The WoodsJR., an adaptation of one of Sondheim's most popular
works designed especially for young performers.
All of your favorite characters—Cinderella, Little RedRidinghood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch—meet and interact in this whimsical original story. Themusical centers on a baker and his wife who wish to
have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king'sfestival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk.
When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot havea child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a
journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.
With unforgettable roles, little dancing, and no chorus,Into The Woods JR. showcases a medium-sized ensemble
of talented singers and actors. The sophisticated scorehas been adapted to make it easier - though still
challenging -for young performers. Into The Woods JR. isa funny and engaging way to get young people to thinkabout the stories with which they've grown up and the
ethical issues raised therein.

END NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR
Welcome to Raider Theatre’s Production of Into The Woods, Jr. We are so thrilled you arejoining us for this “giant” show. Community is by far my favorite part of theatre. Each show, cast, and crew somehow always begins to feel like family. By being here you are now a partof our community and our family.
As you look around you in the gymatorium, you will see familiar faces of family and friends,as well as the faces of some you only know in passing or have yet to meet. The theater is aunique space where people from all different walks of life come together in one location andshare in one magical journey together. Into the Woods itself embodies this same principle. Inthis beautiful show you will witness a whirlwind of characters thrown into a shared settingwith no absolutes. It is said that great theatre holds a mirror to society. Just as tonightbysitting in your seat you have immediately become part of the story line of those aroundyou, these characters you will see on stage are mixed into a scenario, blurring lines of theirpreviously isolated stories and instead creating a community that accomplishes theimpossible.
Come along and join us as we go Into the Woods.
“We cannot act in isolation, nor should we want to for we can accomplish individually only afraction of the things we can accomplish communally. Appreciate what you have, realizewhat you want, accept what you can't have, but discover what you are capable of. It is onlywhen we start accepting each other's faults and acknowledging each other's strengths, then wecan join together to combat the giants that face us all.” –Thomas Uhm, Into the Words Special Thanks to:
