IRELAND’S CULTURE, SOCIETY &

JUSTICE SYSTEM Waterford, Ireland

HIGHLIGHTS:

� Explore Irish crime as depicted in popular culture and juxtapose this with

actual criminal activity involving Irish immigrants in the U.S. and Irish

criminal activity in Ireland.

� Gain first-hand knowledge of Irish cultural history through excursions around

Waterford, Kilkenny, Dublin, Killarney, and neighboring cities.

� Identify similarities and differences between Ireland and the U.S. in terms of

crime and crime control strategies.

� Course can count towards an immersion or minor in Criminal Justice or as

elective credit. Open to all undergraduate majors, no pre-requisites.
