Sacrament of Reconciliation Confessions are heard the first Saturday at 4:00 PM at St. Ambrose and the first Sunday at 8:15 AM at St. Michael, or anytime by appointment. Communal Recon-ciliation services are celebrated during Advent/Lent. Sacrament of Baptism Please call the rectory to make arrangements for the celebration of Baptism. Sacrament of Marriage Engaged couples must contact the parish priest at least six months in advance of the intended wedding date. Marriage preparation includes sessions with the Priest and with a Sponsor Couple. Sacrament of Confirmation Confirmation is celebrated every two years in the fall. Preparation sessions for candidates and sponsors are mandatory. Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick Anointing of the Sick is available upon request. Please notify the rectory when parishioners are hospitalized. Communal Anointing is held each Spring and Fall. The Eucharist is distributed regularly to the homebound by the Priest and Eucharistic Ministers.

Sacrament of Holy Orders Men who are discerning a vocation to the priesthood or permanent diaconate are invited to call the rectory or the Diocesan Vocation Office (330-744-8451). Women discerning a call to religious life are invited to call the rectory or the Diocesan Vocation Office. Religious Education Classes PSR and Youth Ministry (September through April) Sundays 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the J. A. Garfield Elem. School (PSR) and St. Ambrose church hall (Youth Ministry). Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Adults desiring to become Catholic are invited to participate in the R.C.I.A. The “R.C.I.A. Adapted for Children” is for children in the third grade or older who have not been baptized or celebrated their first Eucha-rist. For more information, please contact the rectory. Parish Registration New parishioners are asked to please call or stop by the rectory to register. If you are changing your address or moving out of the parish, please notify us. Bulletin Deadline Please submit all articles for the bulletin no later than Monday of each week.

Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast Don't miss St. Joseph's (Mantua) Annual Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast featuring “All You Can Eat” buttermilk pancakes in Hughes Hall, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. today, Sunday, April 9. This delicious meal is served with homemade toppings and/or syrup, sausage patty, orange juice, coffee, tea, or milk. Great family prices, theme basket raffles, and children's attendance drawings are all a part of the fun.

The Triduum Please make every effort to attend the beautiful liturgies on The Three Days (Triduum) of Holy Week: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. The Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thurs-day, April 13, will be at 7:00 p.m. (SA). The

Good Friday Liturgy of our Lord’s Passion, April 14, will be at 3:00 p.m. (SM) and 7:00 p.m. (SA). The Easter Vigil Mass, April 15, will be at 7:00 p.m. (SA). The Easter Sunday Masses, April 16, will be at 9:00 a.m. (SM) and 8:30 a.m. & 11:15 a.m. (SA). These three days are the most holy in the entire Church Year.

Liturgical Ministers All lectors, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers, ushers and greeters are asked to please be sure to look over the schedule in the bulletin this weekend to see when you may be scheduled for any of the Holy Week liturgies. We are in need of liturgical ministers for the 8:30 a.m. Mass on Easter Sunday here at St. Ambrose. If you can help, please call the rectory at 330-527-4105 ASAP.

Rice Bowls Your Lenten Rice Bowls may be returned anytime during Holy Week. Please place them in the receptacle in the vestibule. On behalf of the many who will benefit from your generosity, thank you!

Collection for the Holy Land A collection will be taken up during our Good Friday liturgies for the Holy Land. Your generosity helps to support a continuing living Catholic presence in the Holy Land.

PSR AND YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

Malley Candy Sale All monies are due today, April 9. If you still owe candy money, it can be turned in at PSR today or dropped off at the rectory.

CCD and Youth Ministry There will be no classes next Sunday, April 16. Classes will resume on Sunday, April 23.

CCD and Youth Ministry End-of-Year Program Sunday, April 30, brings to a close our CCD and Youth Ministry school year. To help celebrate the occasion, we will present a special program which will include a slide show and graduation. Please plan on joining us. The festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. at the J. A. Garfield Elementary School.

Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord April 9, 2017

Fast and Abstinence Catholics are reminded that Good Friday is a day of fast (age 18 thru 59, one full meal and two lesser meals) and abstinence (age 14 and older, no meat).

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament... … following the Holy Thursday Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper until 9:00 p.m., parishioners are encouraged to spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament on this holy night.

Blessing of Easter Food The traditional Easter meal foods will be blessed at St. Ambrose Church on Holy Saturday, April 15, at 11:30 a.m.

Reception The Parish Social Life Committee will host a light reception following the Easter Vigil to welcome the newest members of our Church family. Please plan to join us.

Bike Blessing Our annual Bike Blessing at St. Michael Church is scheduled for Sunday, April 30. Rain or Shine! We need donations of pop, water, side dishes, and desserts (finger foods such as brownies, cookies, etc.). We are also accepting monetary donations to help defray the cost of the hamburgers and hot dogs.

Family Bowling! St. Ambrose Parish Social Life Committee will be hosting a Family Bowling Party on Sunday, May 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Sky Lanes Bowling Alley. Everyone gets free pizza, pop, shoe rental and two games. Even if you

don’t bowl, it’s a great way to socialize with other parishioners. Please call Dolores at 216-990-3588 or Kathryn at 330-569-3454 with your reservation.

St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus Fundraiser The Knights of Columbus is hosting a charity fundraiser through Cal’s Restaurant (Garrettsville) on April 8, 9, 12 & 13. Flyers are available in the vestibule.

2017 Parish Directory Exciting news! St. Ambrose parish is planning a new 2017 parish directory. The directory will include professional photo-graphs of all our parishioners and their names and address. Registration begins in April and the professional photographs will be taken in May. Watch the bulletin for more details!

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner On Saturday, April 22, we will once again have a dinner for all adult men and women who volunteered in any capacity throughout the past year at St. Ambrose parish. The dinner will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Mantua (State Rte. 44) at 7:00 p.m. Social Hour begins at 6:00 p.m. There is a $15.00 charge for any non-volunteer spouse or guest, which must be included with this form. Please return the reservation form below if you are planning to attend. The deadline for the reservation is next Sunday, April 16.

Knights of Columbus The men of the St. Ambrose K of C will have their monthly business meeting this Monday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the hall.

Worship Committee … will meet this Tuesday, April 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the rectory.

Bingo at St. Ambrose Doors open on Tuesday, April 11, at 5:45 p.m. Games (early bird) start at 6:45 p.m. in the church hall. Workers: M. & A. Ryser, P. James, P. Shay, A. Bennett, D. Crane, T. Gushura.

Rummage Sale/Bake Sale Time to clean house and donate any GENTLY used, CLEAN items for the A & R Society Rummage and Bake Sale on April 21/22. Please bring to the right side of the garage at St. Ambrose Church.

Ladies Guild Meeting The Ladies Guild will hold their meeting today, Sunday, April 9, at 10:00 a.m. in the parish hall.

Knights of Columbus The Windham Knights of Columbus will hold their next meeting this Monday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall.

A Bingo “Free Space” There will be no Bingo on Holy Thursday. Bingo will resume on Thursday, April 20. Please support St. Michael’s Bingo!
