With recent development in main engine technology,
the waste heat in the exhaust gas of the mainengine
is reduced significantly due to the de-rating and
high efficiency turbochargers. Coupled with slow
steaming this has resulted in steam output from
the main engine exhaust gas boiler being
reduced compared with overall steam demand.
To overcomethe short fall in steam, Greens Power can
retrofit (or supply for new vessels) a compact Exhaust
Gas Economiser suitable for use with 1, 2 or 3 auxiliary
engines.
Typically an Exhaust Gas Economiser is able to generate
approximately 500kg/Hr steam from the exhaust gas of a
single 1000 kW auxiliary engine.
This supplements steam output at sea and provides
steam in port when only the auxiliary enginesare
operating - Avoiding firing the oil fired boiler at sea and
reducesthe duty on the oil fired boiler in port.
For new ships positive influence on EEDI (Energy
Efficiency Design Index).
Comprises: • Compact Exhaust Gas Economiser, Circulating
Pumps, supply of associated flow and return pipes.
• A fully installed option is available asan extra including
any modification needed to existing boiler to enable
the steam space to be utilised.
