Brooklyn College Foundation Presidential and General Scholarships and Macaulay Honors College Scholarships are financed through Brooklyn College Foundation unrestricted dollars. These scholarships are made possible by generous contributions to the Foundation’s Annual Fund.
MaCaulay honors College sCholarship The Macaulay Honors College Scholarship is awarded to exceptional high-achievers who are students of the City University of New York. The curriculum consists of a common suite of interdisciplinary courses specially designed to stimulate interest in and deepen understanding of the institutions and people of New York City. Macaulay Honors College Scholarship recipients have tuition and fees paid for their four years of full-time study.

Brooklyn College Foundation presidential sCholarship The Brooklyn College Foundation Presidential Scholarship program offers entering Brooklyn College freshmen with outstanding records $4,000 toward the cost of tuition for up to four years of undergraduate study or until completion of the bachelor’s degree. Recipients are selected based on merit demonstrated by SAT scores and high school performances. In order to be considered, a student generally must have a combined score of at least 1,200 on the SAT and a 90 percent high school average.

naMed presidential sCholarships Generous alumni and supporters have bestowed named Presidential Scholarships upon the Brooklyn College Foundation by permanently restricting funds at $100,000 or more to ensure the continuation of the Presidential Scholarship program. Named Presidential Scholarships offer up to $4,000 to entering freshmen at the college for each of the four years of study. In order to remain eligible, recipients must maintain grade point averages of no less than 3.0 during their freshman year and 3.2 each semester and cumulatively thereafter.

perManently restriCted sCholarships, awards and prizesAlumni and supporters have made significant gifts of $25,000 or more that will remain in perpetuity among the assets of the Brooklyn College Foundation. These gifts are pooled together with other endowments and are managed and invested. Payouts are deducted from the earnings of the total invested fund to finance the following scholarships, awards and prizes:

To help mitigate the impact of CUNY’s 5% tuition increase on our students, the Brooklyn College Foundation established a new Supplemental Tuition Assistance Scholarship Fund. Thanks to the support of our generous donors, this fund has financed $100 scholarships each for more than 650 students who were enrolled in the spring, 2011 semester for 6 credits or more, who were in good academic standing, and who were able to demonstrate financial need.
