About CAIRSS
The CAIRSS community emerged from the CAUL Australian Institutional Repository Support
Service (CAIRSS), originally set up by CAUL to provide support for institutional repositories in
Australian Universities, funded by members (with initial support from the Australian
government) between 2009 and 2012.
The Community Days have taken place annually since 2009, with presenters covering a wide
range of themes from stakeholder perspectives to advocacy, management of research
outputs, data, and other technical aspects of repositories. It is an opportunity for the
research repository community and those interested in research repositories to come
together, share what is going on in their institutions, share practice and discuss the future of
research repositories.
Information about the 2018 Community Days is available at
https://www.caul.edu.au/events/community-event-caul-research-repositories-2018
Organising Committee
Each year the event is organised by a team of volunteers from the community, if you are
interested in being part of the 2019 committee please talk to us at the event or send an
email to Harry Rolf at [email protected].
Jenny McKnight, Elke Dawson, Mary-Anne Marrington, Allison Brown, Ingrid Mason, Julie
Gardner, Julie Clift, Kate Croker and Harry Rolf.

Dr Danny Kingsley
Dr Danny Kingsley is the Deputy Director, Scholarly Communication and Research Services at
Cambridge University Libraries. Her role has responsibility for managing funder mandates for
open access and research data management. This includes working closely with colleagues
within the University, the UK and internationally to ensure good policy development and
implementation.
Danny sits on several committees and editorial boards and regularly publishes blogs and
research papers and is invited to speak at conferences. Before moving to the UK she
established the Australasian Open Access Strategy Group. This followed on from working for
four years as the Manager of Scholarly Communication at the Australian National University,
a natural extension of her 2008 PhD into the range of ways different disciplines engage with
open access. She has worked as a science communicator for 15 years, including two years
with ABC Science Online as a journalist for News in Science.
Jaye Weatherburn
Jaye Weatherburn is based in the Digital Scholarship team in Scholarly Services at the
University of Melbourne, working to improve and support data stewardship and digital
preservation capability. Jaye was an Editorial Assistant for the Australian Library Journal
(2014-2016) and is co-author of Preserving Digital Materials 3rd edition (2018). She holds a
Master of Information Management and Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing from
RMIT University, and a Bachelor of Film and Television from the Victorian College of the Arts
(University of Melbourne).
