Religious and Political RadicalizationCritical Discussion PanelFriday, November 26

2:30-4:00pm @ Avard Dixon room 116

CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES CISMTA.CA

On July 13, 2010, the Lower House of France passed a law banning the full face veil (or niqab) in public spaces, claiming it a threat to gender equality. How does this reflect Western perceptions of Islam? Does it reflect a growing radicalization of the West? What has been the evolution of radicalism in other places, such as the Middle East? What does the term radicalization even mean?

Come out to hear our panel analyze the evolution and effects of radicalization from East to West.
