1. Look at the chapter openers and page headings to get the big picture of the content.
2. Skim through the pages to get a sense of the content.
3. Reread but this time thoroughly. Write as you read.
4. Practice the examples.

5. Fill in any gaps you still have about the chapter content by asking for help or referring to other sources.
6. Reflect on what you have read to make connections and internalize the content.
7. Take ownership of what you read by explaining the content in your own words.
8. Practice what you have learned.
