Titanium Bearings
Originally designed and qualifiedin the late 1980s, RBCAerospace Bearings offers a variety of titanium plainspherical bearings, rod endbearings, and journal bearingsfor applications requiringmaximum strength, light weight, and reduced maintenance.
Featured in applicationsthroughout the aerospace anddefense industry, these bearingsare proven for use in enginehangers, trunnion bearings, helicopter rotor head bearings, landing gear bearings, and avariety of additional custom-engineered solutions.
Titanium has excellent inherentcorrosion resistance due to a thin oxide surface film, eliminating the need forcadmium plating; unlike othermaterials such as 4340 steel. This results in a much “greener”product. Titanium is especiallyresistant to salt solutions, making it an ideal material forsea water applications.

Highest Strength-to-Weight Ratio
Proven Wear Performance
Titanium bearings are recommended for a wider range of operating temperatures.Useful temperature range is -320°F to +750°F.Ti-6Al-4V alloy will retain above 60% of itstensile properties at 750°F.
RBC Aerospace Bearings provides a varietyof self-lubricated liner materials dependingupon the application. Extensive materialtesting has developed a proprietary hard coatfor the titanium ball. Wear characteristics areequivalent to the standard CRES 440C ballmaterial.
Titanium bearings provide excellent strength-to-weight properties for applications thatrequire a strong material without weightpenalty.
