MEET RAYNAHi! I’m Rayna and I’m a Colorado wedding photographer based out of Denver.Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I’m still a fan of the PittsburghSteelers and I miss the autumn leaves.

I moved to Colorado in 2010 with my amazing fiance, Christian and our two cats. Since we moved to Colorado, we adopted two more cats and now have four furry children. No, I’m not a crazy cat lady, I believe you have to single for that.

Colorado stole my heart the moment I realized that it was sunny here almost everyday! I love being outside and can’t getenough sunshine. I love the mountains, the desert and everything in between. When I’m not working, you can find me enough sunshine. I love the mountains, the desert and everything in between. When I’m not working, you can find me rock climbing, hiking and traveling. And yes, I usually have my camera in tow. It is safe to say that Colorado is our home.

As a photographer, I specialize in adventurous, free-spirited, active couples. These like minded couples inspire me in life and in my photography. I love connecting with them and capturing their wedding day in a creative and beautiful way. I adore the little details each couple incorporates into their wedding to make it their own. Sometimes it’s as simple as usingclimbing knots on their centerpeices and other times it’s having a ski themed wedding. Regardless, every couple has an climbing knots on their centerpeices and other times it’s having a ski themed wedding. Regardless, every couple has an amazing story and I love documenting it.

I like to say that I photograph couples that like to dance in the rain, literally or figuratively. If you’re one of those couples, I’d love to chat with you. Please let me know if you would like to do the same!

My Shooting Style

My Editing StyleI want your wedding images to look like pictures, not paintings, and I want them to truly represent yourwedding day. My editing consists of making sure that the black and white levels are correct, adding enough contrast that your photos “pop” and making sure colors are true to life. I also provide 5-10% of the photos inblack and white. I only remove blemishes that are temporary, like cuts and pimples and I’ll remove stray hairs if they are distracting. My editing style is very natural and beautiful.

I’m a moments and details photographer. I would say that 75% of my images are photo journalistic (moments). The other 25% include capturing the details of your day and posed portraits, like family and couples portraits. I like to let you create the day and then I capture it. I do my best to be as unobtrusive as possible and I’ll never stop you during your ceremony, first dance or any other event to repose you.

Q&A - A Fun Way To Get To KnowHow did you two meet?

R: We met on HotorNot.com. Yep, remember that site? About ten years ago Christian thought I was cute, so he sent me a message and called me a dork. I kind of liked it. We were suppose to meet back then but I chickened out and cancelled on him. Three years later our internet paths crossed again and we decided to meet up. The rest is history! What's the first thing you noticed about each other? R: That he was super comfortable just being himself and that he had gorgeous eyes. C: That she had a lot of personality and could hold an intelligent conversation, but also played with me really well. She gave my crap right back to me. On our first date, she shoved her ice cream in my face because I kept stealing it. What do you love to do (besides photography)? R: Climb, hike and travel. I also love spending time with my kitties and drinking red wine. C: Climb and travel. Have new experiences of all kinds. What do you look forward to most when photographing a wedding? R: The details and the first dances. I pretty much always cry. I'm a sap for the emotion on a wedding day, so much better than chick flicks.R: The details and the first dances. I pretty much always cry. I'm a sap for the emotion on a wedding day, so much better than chick flicks. C: I really like capturing moments. Candid photographs where people don't know things are being shot. Intentionally set up pictures can be great, but the ones that are really powerful are usually when you manage to capture a genuine moment in time.

Rayna and Christian. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? R: Everywhere. But if I had to pick ONE place, I think I'd go to Patagonia. I'd love to hike there, take a billion pictures and play with a baby sloth. C: Probably Patagonia or Chamonix. Both places I'd like to explore with Rayna and do a healthy amount of climbing. If you could do anything and be paid to do it, other than photography, what would it be?If you could do anything and be paid to do it, other than photography, what would it be? R: I'd love to be a traveling/climbing nomad. I could totally live out of a van and travel the world. C: I'd like to travel and climb. Some of my best experiences have happened when I was living out of a backpack.

What can you tell us about each other? R: Christian is an amazing person. He's funny, motivated and adventurous. He's been my support system for years, motivating me to go back to R: Christian is an amazing person. He's funny, motivated and adventurous. He's been my support system for years, motivating me to go back to school and to start my own photography business. He's my confidence when my confidence is lacking and he's my safety net when I decide to take a leap. He's my rock. When it comes to photography, he has a creative eye and he'll hide in the corners, capturing the intimate, emotional moments without you even knowing it. He's my best friend and I'm so lucky to have him as my second shooter. C: Rayna is amazingly supportive, and encourages my dreams even when they scare her. She also sees the beauty in little things. I tend to be pretty goal focused, and she'll often encourage me to slow down and enjoy the journey instead of pushing hard toward whatever my goal of the moment is. goal focused, and she'll often encourage me to slow down and enjoy the journey instead of pushing hard toward whatever my goal of the moment is.

Anything else you want to add? R: Christian and I make an awesome team. 2014 is our 4th wedding season together and we're both very excited to see what this season brings. We're both energetic, active people and together we are dedicated to capturing your wedding day in a unique, beautiful way.

ENGAGEMENT SESSIONSI believe that an engagement session is an essential part of your wedding photography experience. This is why Iinclude a complimentary engagement session with all of my weddings. Why is it so important?

It lets you get comfortable in front of the camera. If you’re nervous about having a camera pointed at you, anengagement session is a great way to handle those jitters. You’ll probably be a little tense on your wedding day. Beingcomfortable in front of the camera is one less thing to worry about.

It lets us get to know each other. This means that on your wedding day, we won’t be strangers and you’ll feelmuch more comfortable having me following you around. To be honest, you’ll probably see me more than your futuremuch more comfortable having me following you around. To be honest, you’ll probably see me more than your futurehusband or wife, so it’s best if we get to know each other a little bit first.

Lastly, engagement sessions are super fun and relaxing, and you get amazing pictures to show off and cherish.

I like to view engagement sessions as a rehearsal or trial run. I get to know you and how you relate to each other. This allows me to tell your love story more effectively. What do you have to lose?

Try us out with an engagement session.

If you book your wedding with us afterwards, we’ll refund the session fee.

The following itinerary examples are not set in stone and can be customized to your needs. Your time is your time and can be used anyway you please.

I recommend scheduling a consultation so we can talk about your wedding day and figure out what type of coverage you’re looking for.

During the ceremony we provide coverage of both you saying your vows and your guests reactions. We focus on the emotion while providing different angles of coverage to document your ceremony flawlessly.

While not for everyone, first looks are a great way to ease nerves on your wedding day and get some sweet and emotional images in the process. It is when you see your spouse to be, for the first time, before the ceremony. This allows you to focus on one another when you see each other for the first time.

This time is spent one on one with you and your new husband/wife. We ask that family members and guests are not present during this time to eliminate distractions and allow some time for you to enjoy each other’s company. For the highest quality images we recommend a full hour for couple’s portraits with 30 minutes being the absolute minimum. This is your time to shine and take a breath.

During this time, the second hangs out with the guys, while I hang out with the girls. We document you and your bridal party getting ready. These are sometimes the most emotional, touching photos. We also use this time to photograph your special details like the wedding dress, rings, bouquet and ceremony site.

For family portraits, I ask that you provide me with a list of family pictures that you would like. With bridal party portraits, we leave the area whenever possible for some creative, playful images.
