RAR The Eames molded plastic armchair derives from the original molded chairs designed by Ray and Charles Eames. This unique variation features a molded shell with a deep seat pocket, integrated armrests and a high backrest, which was originally manufactured in fiberglass-reinforced plastic. The special fiberglass-reinforced plastic. The special rocking base consists of the iconic Eames wire base set atop birch wood rockers and steel rods.

The design for the first molded plastic chair was the brainchild of Charles and Ray Eames. The idea was conceived for the Museum of Modern Art’s international competition for Low Cost Furniture Design in 1948.
