    1.SCOPE:

1.1This Procedure describes the general requirements for radiographyexamination (RT) according to related approvedweldmap for themetallicweldingandcastingasmayberequiredbythespecificationorunderwhichcomponentisbeingdesignedandmanufactured.

1.2This radiographic testing procedure provides the material, equipment, calibration, personnelqualification, examinationprocess, evaluation, recordsandacceptancestandardsforXXXProjectwhichwillbefabricatedinYYY.

    2.SURFACECONDITION

According toT.222.2, theweld ripplesorweldsurface irregularitieson theboth the inside (where accessible) and out side shall be removed by anysuitable process to such a degree that the resulting radiographic testingimageduetoanysurfaceirregularitiescannotmaskorbeconfusedwiththeimageofanydiscontinuity.thefinishedsurfaceofallbuttweldedjointsmatbeflushwiththebasematerialormayhavereasonablyuniformcrowns,withreinforcementnottoexceedthatspecifiedinthereferencingcodesection.

Themaximumthickness for theuseof radioactive isotopes isprimarilydictatedby exposure time, therefore upper limits are not shown. The minimumRecommended thickness limitation may be reduced when the radiographytechniques are used to demonstrate that the required radiographic testingsensitivityhavebeenobtained, bypurchaserapproval.
