RADIO ADVERT EVALUATION

WHAT CREATIVE DECISIONS DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE TO SOLVE PROBLEMS AND HOW DID THIS DEPART FROM YOUR ORIGINAL PLAN?

In our group we thought to create a more narrative radio advert so to engage and relate to the audience. .We had to create our own sound of ripping trousers because there was no sound effect on the school system. So we had to record the sound of ripping paper to compensate for this.

BOTH INDIVIDUALLY AND WORKING WITH OTHERS HOW DID YOU WORK AND WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE?

I thought that our group worked very well and were able to create a script we were all agreed on and the recording also when very smooth and were able to complete it in the minimum takes so had more time to edit and perfect our radio advert.

WHAT ADVERTISING TECHNIQUES DID YOU USE TO HOOK YOUR INTENDED TARGET AUDIENCE?

We used repetition of the word waves as that was the name of the shop in the advertisement.

Also we used bedding music to keep the audience engaged and interested in the advert.

We also used a narrative to tell a story and to relate to real world circumstances

Also used more emphasis on some important words like “stickers”

HOW DID TECHNOLOGY ENABLE THE CREATIVE PROCESS? WAS IT DIFFICULT TO USE ANY OF THE EQUIPMENT AND DID YOU LEARN ANY SKILLS?

The technology we used was audacity it was very easy to use although I did have a problem as one of the parts of the radio advert was repeated and echoed. That was the only problem I occurred.

WHAT CONVENTIONS OF RADIO ADVERTS HAVE YOU USED OR NOT USED AND WHY?

We didn’t use a jingle as we didn’t have the time to fit it to our 30 second time limit and also didn’t think it was an important aspect of a radio advert.

We did use things like bedding music, repetition and emphasis on some words to keep the audience engaged and interested in the radio advert.

WHAT OR WHO ARE YOU REPRESENTING IN YOUR ADVERT AND HOW?

We are representing a hard done by man who buys cloths from a cheap shop and these cloths aren't the best quality because they always rip so his friend tells him a high quality shop at low prices to replace these tatty cloths

WHAT FEEDBACK DID YOU GET AND DID THIS HELP YOU REALISE ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT?

Other than the echoed and the repetition on a line over on another the feed back I received was good and non of the other components were over powering another.
