This is an exciting time to join QEF and this role provides an ambitious person the opportunity to be part of shaping our future service offer.
QEF is an established charity with the vision and ambition to grow its care and wider range of services. Over the next 5 years we aim to enable many more disabled people achieve greater independence. The service at Dorincourt will re-locate to our new Care and Rehabilitation Centre at Leatherhead Court, Leatherhead in the Spring of 2020. This post will be instrumental in maintaining the delivery of a quality service at Dorincourt whilst transitioning it to be part of the new service in our state-of-the-art building next year.
We plan to transform our care and rehabilitation services into a single modern service where we can develop more innovative and integrated propositions to enable increasing numbers of clients enjoy more satisfying and independent lives.

Our Ambition

QEF provides services for over 5,000 adults and children annually and there is an ambition to grow this number significantly. We provide a range of excellent services which include residential neuro rehabilitation for acquired brain injury/stroke, residential adult services supporting complex disabilities, mobility solutions to provide driving skills, wheelchair services and specialist disabled equipment provision for both children and adults.
We are focused on developing further innovative solutions to enable more disabled people to gain independence and these include assistive technology, recreational sport/therapy and enhanced skills development. Our therapies include physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychology and recreational activities which are all integral to supporting disabled people gain skills to be as independent as possible. We are proud to work with many NHS and Social care organisations delivering specific commissioned contracts including short term neuro rehabilitation and longer-term specialist care.

Role Requirements
This is an ideal development opportunity for you to build on existing experience, be part of an exciting project and gain personal development in a supportive environment.
This is a full-time role based in Leatherhead, Surrey. Your 37.5 hours will require some flexibility to ensure the needs of a 24/7 service are met. There is a large staff team of over 80 people and a turnover of £3 million.
This is a registered CQC service and knowledge of registered service delivery is essential together with the option of meeting the requirements of the role of Registered Manager.
The remuneration for this role is circa £42,000 depending on experience.

We work with over 5,000 disabled children and adults every year with physical or learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Whether it’s gaining new skills to live independently, rehabilitation after a brain injury or stroke, or improving independence through increased mobility and accessible holidays; QEF helps disabled people to fulfil their potential in life.
QEF is structured into three main services - Independent Living Services, Mobility Services and Neuro Rehabilitation Services. These are augmented by QEF Retail Trading and a family of smaller charities - MERU which provides innovative product solutions and Sutton Shopmobility and VASD which offer access to and loans of mobility equipment.
ROLE CONTEXT
At QEF Independent Living Services (‘ILS’) we aim to give young adults with complex disabilities the experience, skills and information they need to achieve more independent living. We are committed to ensuring personal dignity, autonomy, choice and freedom for the individual to become more independent and take personal responsibility, within a supportive environment.
JOB PURPOSE
To lead and manage the delivery of person-centred care and support in the residential care service for adults with complex disabilities ensuring all aspects are outstanding and the service is successful and financially viable.
To assist in the delivery of an exciting organisational change programme including the transition of the service to a new environment.4 | P a g e
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that the service continues to meet all legislative and organisational standards and good practice guidance through operational knowledge and effective quality management
Solve problems that may be complex in nature including adult protection and staffing issues as well as providing action plans to resolve any issues raised through external and internal inspections
Lead, direct, supervise and support staff working within the service to ensure high levels of engagement
Lead and communicate in such a way as to ensure an open and honest culture where staff feel engaged and empowered
Provide specialist advice to staff to enable all client queries, complaints and advocacy matters are dealt with to ensure that effective service performance and quality are maintained
Manage and monitor the operational budget in order to keep within the agreed budget limits on expenditure and to manage resources to obtain best value for money whilst maintaining quality and safety as a first priority
Promote the service in line with marketing plans including undertaking visits and assessments with prospective new clients, attending external events and liaison with funding bodies and other external professionals
Develop, train and motivate staff through leading by example, promoting team work, developing and maintaining a learning culture to ensure high levels of performance
Ensure the building, environment and equipment is maintained to a safe standard through regular review with the Facilities Coordinator
Provide on call cover as required
