Although Jack could not imagine how Puss was going to help him,he made up his mind to trust him with the boots and a bag, and findout what he would do.

Puss set off with a bold air for a place where he knew there were

a great many wild rabbits. He put some lettuce inside of the bag,and set it on the ground wide open. Then he hid himself and waited.
