How to read model numbers
Rated value details
When using solenoids, applied voltage and temperature increases are directly correlated. If the applied voltage is high, one can obtain a correspondently good level of attraction, but the solenoid's temperature will rise rapidly. When applied voltage is low, the temperature of the solenoid will rise more gradually. Takaha's solenoids are set with Class A insulation (up to 105 degrees celsius).In cases where you will be continuously applying a current, please use the chart below to select the model that matches your desired voltage.If you know in advance the frequency of use for the intended device, please consult the formula below.

Attraction refers to the amount of pressure the solenoid part applies. Stroke is defined as the distance from the the point at which the solenoid stops applying pressure (set as 0mm).
Attraction rises with electrical consumption and falls as the stroke measure lengthens.

When using the CA04220240(24Ω) and applying voltage of DC24V,the formula P=E /R is used to compute 24W of electrical consumption. The resultant pull force is depicted by the line at right. (Usage rating 6%)
When solenoid temperature rises, pulling force decreases. The table below shows the rate of increase and decrease in pulling force according to temperature when the standard temperature is 20℃.
Please refer to the table to choose a pulling force with a safety margin.

Push solenoids have a return spring in place to returnthe plunger to a fixed position when no other force is applied to the plunger.

A push solenoid has a push bar attached to the curved head of the plunger and when the plunger is pulled into the solenoid the push bar extends out the opposite end.
Because a push solenoid uses the suction of the plunger to push out the push bar, the force increases the farther out the push bar is.The force - stroke relationship for diagrams Fig.1 and Fig.2 is displayed in the graph.

Magnetic latching solenoids are equipped with permanent magnets so during use,

1. The de-energized pull force refers to the pulling force applied to the plunger by the permanent magnet when the solenoid is de-energized.

2. Similar to how magnets have N and S poles, a magnetic latching solenoid's N and S poles are decided by the electric current direction. When under a pull force a current direction that does not repel the permanent magnet is necessary.
The current direction is listed in the catalog. For the above example, a positive(+) red lead and a negative(-) black lead is the correct current direction for suction.
3. When the plunger comes into contact with the fixed core, even if the power is cut the considerable force of the permanent magnet maintains the retracted plunger position.
Because the plunger does not return toits original position automatically - thereturn takes place when the magneticforce of the permanent magnet isnegated - during use, a load must be applied to the plunger taking into accountthe pull force when de-energized

4. In order for the plunger to return, a current opposite of the above diagram is applied to repel the permanent magnet. Electric power just enough to cancel the magnetic force of the magnet is necessary. If not enough power is applied, the magnetic force will not be cancelled, and if too much power is applied the solenoid's magnetic force will win out over the magnet's and end up pulling the plunger in. Because the resistor, R, in the diagram above can dissipate a lot of power at the same voltage as when energized, the power is adjusted by mediating the resistance.

(Using the graph to the right as an example, E=DC24V、P=09.W~1.3W) a resistance R of 405Ω~602Ω can be calculated.
A solenoid's return is based on offsetting the force of the permanent magnet so the relationship may not quite match in the table to the right due to environmental factors such as temperature variation. Please give due consideration to this when setting the return load during actual use.

Use for a greater period of time than that suggested by the manufacturer can cause solenoid burnout, so please take care to use within the indicated limits.
If the drawing power margin is too small, and minute conditions can cause defective functions (delay or lack of absorption). On the contrary, if the margins are large, impacts within the iron core will be great, and over time the iron core may become deformed and enlarged through the absorption of residue, thereby reducing the life of the product. Please check the product by testing the life and performance in the machine itself.
When connecting the plunger with the mechanical load, take care to connect the mechanical load to the plunger with the plunger's operational orientation at the center. Poor configuration can result in a reduction of the product's life.
Using voltage or electric current greater than that suggested by the manufacturer can cause solenoid burnout, so please take care to use within the indicated limits.
Please note that if there are iron plates or other magnetic items nearby, functioning could be affected.
Please avoid storing or using outdoors or in areas where exposure to freezing conditions, condensation, dripping water or dust may occur.
If a large impact is incurred by a solenoid conductor, components may become distorted, damaged, etc. thereby reducing functionality. This may also occur as a result of mishandling, so please take adequate precautions.
Please do not touch the solenoid directly.While warming up, the moving parts could crush fingers.Also, while power is on and immediately after stoppage, some parts may be very hot, and there is a danger of fire.
