This course is facilitated by award-winning
Chartered Psychologist, Dr. Graham Tyler – the
originator of regular BPS Level A and B training
in Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong. Graham
is a registered organizational psychologist and
executive director of PsyAsia International. His
PhD thesis concentrated on psychometric
assessment with particular emphasis on the
validity of international and local models and
measures of personality in Asia. Graham was
previously an MBA lecturer in HRM for the
University of Leicester Dubai Campus, as well
as MSc in HRM Lecturer for Hong Kong
Polytechnic University. He spends most of his
time involved in training and consultancy in
HRM and applied organizational psychology.
He is a joint resident of Singapore and Hong
Kong. He is a full member of the American
and Australian Psychological Societies and an
Associate Fellow with the British Psychological
Society. Graham’s research with psychometric
tools has been recognised by the BPS with
their prestigious prize for Scientific Contribution to Organizational Psychology.
Graham is also an Associate Fellow with the
Hong Kong Psychological Society and a
professional member of the Hong Kong
Institute for HRM. His research has been
published in international, peer-reviewed and
professional journals, as well as numerous
books. He is a reviewer for the Journal of
Personality & Individual Differences and the
annual SIOP Conference in the USA, as well as
a supervisor for intern psychologists from Asian
and Australian Universities. There is nobody
more qualified and based in Asia running this
course!
PsyAsia International’s Psychometric Assessment at Work Course provides delegates
with a firm grounding in the competent application of psychometric aptitude, ability
and personality tests for recruitment/selection, development, coaching and career
counseling decisions. As Asia’s independent leader in psychometric assessment

This course is for anybody who uses or intends to use psychometric tests in the
workplace. For example, human resource and training professionals, line managers,
directors, training facilitators, coaches, counsellors and psychologists. It equips
delegates to choose the right psychometric tests and to administer, score, interpret,
feedback and make decisions with the assistance of psychometric test results.
PsyAsia International has offered this course in Asia since 2002. Our face-to-face
training takes place in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Brunei and mainland China
multiple times throughout the year. We also offer in-house training at any location.

Prior to the course, delegates will be asked to complete some pre-course work. There is no pre-course work for Level 1 but
delegates are advised to view our complimentary training videos. Level 2 Ability delegates are required to read a short
manual, taking around 2 hours depending on prior knowledge. In addition, we advise viewing of course videos. Level 2
Personality delegates are required to read a short manual, again taking around 2 hours. In addition to this, Level 2
Personality delegates must view an interactive presentation on the interpretation of the Identity Self-Perception
Questionnaire. This can be expected to take a further 2 hours. As soon as we receive payment from delegates, they are
given immediate access to our Online Learning Centre. We therefore advise delegates to sign up for their course as far in
advance as possible to give them as much time as possible to utilize all learning Centre resources. This will ensure the best
learning experience. The Learning Centre comprises training videos, recorded lessons, a delegate forum for discussion and
advice, course workbooks and manuals.
For those attending our face-to-face training there will be work to do on each evening of the course. This can be
minimized by doing more learning prior to the actual training sessions. We estimate the work for each evening to be
around 1-2 hours depending on your learning speed. However, on Day Four of your course, please allow additional time
for evening work of up to 3 hours. You may not need this amount of time, but please allow for it to be safe! For those
attending our Live Online Training, there will be approximately 1 hour’s work to complete between each session.
Post-course work includes completion of the course workbook, along with additional personality assessment
administration and feedback for Level 2 Personality. The actual amount of work will depend on how much time you
devoted to the workbook during the course. On average, you should expect your post-course work for the combined
Level 1 & 2 Ability and Personality course to take up to 2 days, whilst for those attending only Level 2 Ability or only Level 2
Personality, this will take up to a day. The more preparation delegates do before the course and the more they are able to
apply themselves during the course, the less post-course work will need to be done!
A few UK vendors offer this certification in a shorter “Express” course. Our experience is that this requires significantly more
pre-and post-course work and leads to delegates feeling significantly more pressure during the course – guaranteed!

Successful delegates will be able to apply for the British Psychological Society's Occupational Testing Qualifications: Level 1
Assistant Test User and Level 2 Ability Test User and Personality Test User. They will also be able to appear on the society’s
Register of Qualifications in Test Use for an additional annual fee payable to the BPS. Furthermore, for another small
additional fee, successful Level 2: Personality Test User certificate holders will be able to apply for the European Federation
of Psychological Associations (EFPA) Test User Certificate. Certificate holders are expected to keep themselves both current
and to ensure recency of practice. As a result, there is a requirement to declare this status to the BPS once every 6 years. A
number of these declarations will be audited.
With all training that leads to BPS Level 2: Ability and Personality Test User, successful delegates will be accredited in most
ability/aptitude tests. In addition, they will be accredited in a single personality assessment. PsyAsia International’s 6-day
courses go beyond this by offering delegates accreditation in up to 3 personality assessments. This does involve extra
work, but no extra fee. Delegates may choose this route or simply opt for accreditation in a single personality tool.
Some years ago, PsyAsia International enabled an Online Learning Centre for our Psychometric Assessment Course
delegates. Here delegates can meet co-delegates and discuss topics in forums or live chat. They can also watch recorded
training videos. In addition, from Q2, 2014, PsyAsia International is pleased to add Live Online Learning and all recorded
videos from our Live Online Learning as standard for all face-to-face delegates. So, no matter what course modality you
select, blended learning comes as standard!
