PROFILE OF A GUPPY BREEDER #11 Luke Roebuck
COOL HAND LUKE (The guppy ambassador of the world)
Frank Schulterbrandt 3/5/2016
Luke has been raising and breeding fancy guppies for over forty five plus years, and showing IFGA quality
fancy guppies for twenty plus years. Luke’s native country of Trinidad & Tobago, where he lived all his pre-adult life. In the South Caribbean, He raised wild, store-bought, and imported, show-quality guppies from
breeders such as Lou Wasserman back in the early 1970's.
Luke maintained 200+ tanks of show quality guppies and has won many first place awards around the world. Along the way he has also collected a few Best Of Show awards also here from the states and abroad. Luke was always importing guppies from around the world and he would further develop that line. Many people from around world and the states also obtained various guppy lines from Luke. I always called him Trini-Man for obvious reasons. I really got to know Luke from the 1990’s and 2000’s as he raised black delta guppies as those were my favorites. Luke would only show them once in a while but I always knew that he had them somewhere in his fish room. Never bored in his fish room as he was creating or improving the different lines of guppies that he had. At the IFGA meeting shows and the IFGA Annuals Luke was always a blast. I could always count on him knocking down a cold one with me. Luke Roebuck an IFGA Certified judge, Luke Roebuck winner of many first place awards, Luke Roebuck winner of many IFGA color class championships, Luke Roebuck winner of Best Of Show awards from all over the world, Luke Roebuck MASTER BREEDER (the highest accolade that can be bestowed upon an IFGA exhibitor of guppies).
