  • The PRESENT PERFECT in this example expresses DURATION:Mary and Tim met in the autumn of 2013 and it's now 2015 so THEY HAVE BEEN TOGETHER (FOR) ALL THIS TIME!!!!

  • PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS:HAVE/ HAS BEEN + - ING

    It expresses that something has been done, but it may not be finished yet.

  • I have lived in this house for 10 years (and today I'm saying goodbye because I'm moving out)

    I have been living in this house for 10 years (and I hope to spend many more years here!)
