The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temp-tation; but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Distribution of the Lord’s Supper Deacons
All Christians of whatever name or creed are invited to participate. We take the Bread as it is passed to symbolize our personal fellow-ship with God in Christ. We hold the Cup to take together, symbol-izing our unity in Christ.

Preacher’s Note: Honoring Mothers “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12
The Ten Commandments in the Old Testament are divided into two groups. The first four pertain to how we are to relate to God and the remaining six relate us to one another. So it is important to note that the very first commandment of that second set (the fifth command-ment) calls us to honor our parents.
Yet this reminder can result in mixed feelings. Some never knew their mother. Others had mothers that were poor examples to their children. Still others have had mothers that faith-fully walked with Christ. Some have mothers that are living while others have already lost their mother.
Whatever the circumstance and state of your relationship with your mother, Paul offers a reminder that this is the first commandment to come with a promise (Eph. 6:2). It is best for you to reconcile when reconciliation is needed, to praise when praise is needed, and to learn godliness by comparison or contrast with your example. Praise God for godly moth-ers that raised you to draw even closer to God than they have. Praise God for grace in Christ which enables you to grow in faithfulness beyond the example of your parents whether good or bad. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Next Week: 1st Thess. 2:1-16 – Faith: Faithful Proclamation
