How do we fix this problem?Positive Behavior Support• PBS is a system that allows us as teachers to
regain control of our classrooms. It focuses on teaching our children what we expect from them and holding them accountable. Unlike traditional discipline systems it also recognizes and rewards children for doing the right thing.
Juvenile Justice Reform Act (1225) requires this program to be implemented in every school in the U.S., and WE will implement it effectively.

PBS Lottery -Twice a year we will have a PBS Pep Rally where we draw names and reward big prizes (tv’s, ipods, cameras,...)-We will also have a prize for the student who accumulated the most dollars for each grade.

Students may use Raider Bucks on any Wednesday for Free Dress Jean / Hat / Slipper / Flip Flops Concession Ticket (Purchase from Office)
TARDY PARTY Students with no tardies for the nine weeks will be invited for a
treat in the cafeteria. BANNER/HONOR ROLL BREAKFAST
All Students that earn honor or banner roll will be served a special breakfast. (every nine weeks)
NO REFERRAL COOKOUT Student with NO REFERRALS will be invited to a cookout.
(end of each semester)
How do we know it will work?
• Early Learning Center, St. Martin Parish– Increase in School Performance Score from 70.3% in 2004-05 to 85.6% in 2007-08

• Sabine Parish – A rural parish similar to ours with a 61% free/reduced lunch rate began to
implement PBS in 2005. (Zwolle High School, one of their largest schools, has an 84% free/reduced lunch rate.)
• Jefferson Davis Parish – Out-of-school suspensions decreased from 1005 to 860.– Expulsions decreased from 76 to 52.– Jennings High School
• Office referrals have decreased by 41%.• The dropout rate has decreased from 6.1% to 0.2%• The attendance rate increased from 92.8% to 93.6 percent.
