This guide provides simple setup steps for configuring your Polycom Trio
(and Trio Collaboration Kit) on Skype for Business (SfB).
Please consult technical documentation on support.polycom.com for
further Skype deployment specific information including Release Notes.
To install the Trio Collaboration kit, connect the Trio and Visual+ devices
to the network (both devices require PoE) as shown ensuring that both
devices are located within the same VLAN (IP-subnet).
To pair the Polycom Trio with the Visual+ first enable pairing on the Trio
via Settings\Advanced\NetworkedDevices and then briefly press the
pairing button on the Visual+ device to initiate the pairing process.
The Trio 8800 Collaboration Kit additionally supports the Polycom®
EagleEye™ IV USB large room camera in addition to the 930e huddle
camera as well as Airplay and Miracast for local in-room content display.
Steps;
1. Enable Trio Web Server Management Interface
➢ Trio Menu: Settings\Advanced\Administration Settings\...
➢ Default Admin Password = “456”
2. Determine IP Address of Trio
➢ Trio Menu: Settings\Status\Network\...
3. Connect to Trio Web UI
➢ Trio Web UI: Home

4. Upgrade Trio to latest UCS Software (via Polycom Cloud or USB)
• Polycom Cloud Method (Internet Connection Required)

➢ Download latest Trio software ZIP and extract to USB (FAT32)
5. Confirm Trio Mode (Base Profile = Skype for Business)

6. Configure Time Synchronization
➢ Trio Web UI: Preferences\Date & Time
7. Configure Skype Authentication Mode & Parameters
➢ Trio Web UI: Settings\Skype for Business Sign In
➢ A complex static password is recommended
8. Configure System Name (Displayed Name)

13. SIP Hybrid Lines Support (Max 3 lines)

➢ Choose: “Trio Custom.cfg” XML and import the configuration
• Add a SIP Voice line (i.e. Cisco, NEC, Avaya, Broadsoft etc.)
➢ Add required configuration under the specific line (i.e. Line#2)
Adjust video settings

Note: 2048 kbps call
rate is default
Tip: High Lost Packets,
Packet Jitter or no RX-
Packets indicates network
issues such as; bandwidth,
QoS and Firewall issues.

• Add a Zoom or BlueJeans Guest Hot-Line
➢ Determine additional Lines & Type
(i.e. BlueJeans Line #2, Zoom Line#3 etc.)
➢ Import relevant pre-templated configuration via;
Web UI: Utilities\Import & Export Configuration
➢ Review the line configuration in the WebUI including the line
Digit-map
14. Home Screen Customization
➢ The “Trio Custom.cfg” has been customized to remove selective
Home screen icons and decouple from Lync provisioning. Refer
to the Polycom Trio Administration guide for further details.
Notepad++ is recommended for editing XML configuration files.
15. Phone Backup & Restore
➢ Trio Web UI: Utilities\Phone Backup & Restore
16. Factory Default (Resets all Device Settings)

17. Wireless Presenter* (Trio8800 Collaboration Kit only)

Airplay requires
WiFi access. Bluetooth is
used to locate the Airplay
device in multi-VLAN
environments.

DHCP Options (160/161) can be used to pass Provisioning
URL, otherwise set Boot Server to STATIC.
Default Provisioning mode is FTP with ”PlcmSpIp”/”PlcmSpIp”
credentials, Refer to Administration Guide for setup details
Miracast uses WiDi
(direct casting)
