In the epithalamus where the 2 parts of the brain come together
Middle of the brain
What kinds of hormones it produces
melatonin
Effects of melatonin to the human body
Controls when you fall asleep and when you wake up
Why melatonin is important to the maintenance of homeostasisPlays a part in the reproduction system
Identify Feedback Mechanisms and Antagonistic Hormones.
The feedback mechanism is that melatonin helps regulate the body by determining when
it is day or night.-The antagonistic hormones are astrocytes,
which makes up 5% of the pineal gland, as the rest of the gland is made up of 95%
pinealocytes.-Is nutritional and structural for it to be
involved in the clearance of neurotransmitters from within the synaptic cleft.
What happens if the gland does not function properly?
Losing energyTrouble with simple body
tasks like food digestionBad skin and hair
