Photography“The good thing about pictures is that they
never change, even if the people in them do.”
-Unknown
Since the dawn of the photographical invention, the camera obscura, history has been immortalised on a bit of paper, behind a screen, in a picture frame. As we, humans, evolved as a race, we found new ways of capturing that special/destructive moment, with little to no effort at all.

tells you, the less you know”- Diana Arbus
What is Macro photography?
With macro photography, it’s not just about taking a photo, it’s about taking a photo that reveals more than the human eye can see. The same goes to landscape photography, but they both work in two different ways.
Landscape – Shows you the world that humans have seen, but don’t know the beauty of it.
Macro – Shows you the world that insects and plants live, in high definition.

“Snow flakes like this only appear when the temperature is about -5ºC; too warm and they'll be big, but not symmetrical, and will melt quickly; too cold and they'll be symmetrical, but really small and not very interesting. This is taken on a mohair scarf, with natural light, at f9.5, and 1 second.”
- Ben Anderson.
Landscape“There is an eternal landscape, a geography of
the soul; we search for its outlines all our lives.”
- Josephine Hart
What is Landscape photography?
Past Present
We use landscape as a means to tell a story of the world and it’s many wonderful landmarks, landmarks that are still standing today.
For example, after the tsunami and earthquake hit Japan in 2011, March 11, the world stood in silence as they saw the images of destroyed towns, homes, and livelihoods. Above is a key example of a once mutilated car park back in 2011, and a present image of the same car park.

Light Painting“Light Painting in its many forms has been a
growing trend”
- Darren Rowse
What is Light Painting?
Light Photography was
first coined and created
by, Étienne-Jules Marey
and Georges Demenyin
1889, but later
revolutionised by, Man
Ray in 1935.
The main concept of
painting with light, is to
add that spectral essence
into photographs, spooky
light trails where you
know where they come
from (the use of lighting
tools, e.g. bulbs) but still
adds that element of
interest.

times. There are so many chances that they take to get the right photo.”

PresentTechnology over the years has allowed us as a species to develop wonderful inventions, and different approaches were found on older tools, the camera is no exception.

Panoramic shots were invented to show large images of cityscapes, landscapes and inside buildings, mainly this was used as a means for architectural placement, but now, the style is used as a means to show the world in stunning view.

Photojournalism“In a way, if and individual assumes the risk of
placing himself in the middle of a war to communicate to the rest of the world what's
happening, he's trying to negotiate for peace. Perhaps that's the reason for those in charge of
perpetuating the war do not like to have photographers around.”
- James Nachtwey
What is Photojournalism
Past Present
Photojournalism was first coined in 1900’s, when a photographer, Lewis Hine, was hired to document children working milling stations, through photographs. Since then, Photojournalism has taken a path that tells a painful, sad but highly informative story, without words.

Portrait“What i like about photographs is that they
capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
- Karl Lagerfeld
What is a Portrait?
