Registration began at 10.30 am and a total of 24 patients along with one attendant each were registered. In addition, 29 health care providers including doctors and physiotherapists from the hospital and outside attended the program The patients had travelled from various parts of the country, ranging from Kanpur, Moradabad, Bhopal, Indore, Chennai and Rohtak.
Each patient was provided with a ‘Yoga Mat’ to be taken away by them at the end of the event.
The program commenced sharp at 11 am. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Rajesh Taneja who introduced the faculty, which included Dr. Seema Grover, Chief Physiotherapist, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, and The Visiting Faculty Ms. Bhavti Soni, a Specialized Pelvic Floor Therapist from the USA

Dr. Seema Grover apprised the audience through her talk on Burden of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Interstitial Cystitis in India. This session was Chaired by Dr. OP Sharma, National Professor of Geriatrics and Dr. Ranjana Sharma Senior Consultant Urogynecologist.
The Inaugural ceremony included “Traditional Lamp lighting” which was done by Medical Director of the Hospital Mr. P Shiv Kumar along with all the Faculty and Chairpersons. During the ceremony, Mr. P Shivkumar, felicitated faculty and chairpersons and gave away mementoes to acknowledge their contribution. The certificate of participation to all the patients were given away by Dr. O.P. Sharma.
The scientific session continued after the inaugural ceremony and Dr Bhavti Soni explained the anatomy and physiology of Pelvic floor. The session was chaired by Dr. Shakti Bhan Khanna and Dr. Seema Grover. During the same session Dr. Rajesh Taneja talked about the scientific basis of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction in in causing Interstitial Cystitis.
The next session was Chaired by Dr. (Maj.Gen.) L.R. Sharma, Senior Physician and Dr. Amita Jain Urogynecologist from Medanta Medicity, Gurugram. During this session, Dr Bhavti Soni demonstrated the techniques of pelvic floor relaxation therapy to the audience.
Dr Anupam Sibal, Group Director Medical Services, Apollo Hospitals shared a few words of wisdom.
A special lunch created by the chef was according to the scientific guidelines of “Indian diet for Interstitial Cystitis” . After a comfortable gap, mass physiotherapy session for the patients was conducted by Ms Bhavti Soni and Dr Seema Grover. The event was concluded by the comments about the ‘Do it yourself’ suggestions to the patients.
The Department of Marketing supported the event and everything was very well planned and executed starting from the adequate number of signboards placed appropriately in the campus, arrangements for certificates, mementoes and preparation of Auditorium for the event. The event ended with a vote of thanks to all.
