DSS provides needy children with a sack of nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to take home over the weekend. Join us Thursday, May 3, at 5:30 in the middle school/epicenter room off the cafe
area, as we pack our last bags of the school year- 400 bags for the month of May. Also remember you can still sponsor a child for next year for only $72 (make a check out to First Presbyterian Church,
put “Saturday Sacks” in the memo line). You can help make a difference in our community and the Kingdom of God by joining
the fight against hunger! Please contact Nicole Errickson at 706-346-4616 or [email protected] for more
information on volunteering.
Bring anything you think might help keep children in Afghanistan warm to the parlor near the church office. We
continue to ship these items to Bill and Nancy Hyatt’s son-in-law, Lt. Col. Michael Hulsey, for his unit to disperse. Thank you for your
care, help and support. Clara Clark and Bobbie Carmical---Mission Committee

and directing guests, and assisting the office staff with small administrative tasks. Please consider serving in this capacity to aid our staff! If you are interested, please contact Sarah Joseph and she
will provide details about what specific time slots are available.
We thank those who had the opportunity to serve the Lumpkin family.

Our disaster assistance specialists from our center in Arkansas were into Dallas, Texas, and surrounding areas within 18 hours of the
storms bringing trucks loaded with supplies and “Gift of the Heart Kits” for evacuees. These are baby kits, personal hygiene kits, clean-
up buckets, and school kits. This has been an active 3 months weather-wise with more in the offing. Supplies of these kits need to be replenished! Go to the web and put in “Gift of the Heart Kits.” It
will take you directly to each kit’s contents, how to prepare one, and the size of zip-loc bag you might need. Have a “Kit Party!”
Bring completed kits to Tyler Downing and he will handle shipping. Thank you!
